Yes, the post is 100% real, do you want to call me on my new phone? When I say a few dropped calls, I literly mean about 3 dropped calls in about a week and 3 times where the phone couldn't dial out. With Verizon the hand off when driving in the car is excellent, I've driven from Washington DC to NY and don't recall a single dropped call, but with AT&T I was driving home from ...

Initial Impressions of AT&T from long-term Verizon Customer
Jul 13, 2007, 11:30 AM
in the AT&T forum

I was previously with Verizon for about 10 years. I have the Moto V710 for the past 2 plus years with Verizon. I recently got engaged so my Fiance travels a lot overseas so I decided to consolidate our bills and give AT&T a try - I signed us up for the family plan 1200 minutes, but I think we'll switch that to 2100 minutes next month. It's great that we can talk for free anytime. ...

LG's do sound like crap generally, Samsungs are much clearer...that's just a statement of fact. Nothing personal to the LG people.

I agree with the WSJ review, what were they thinking to have stereo speakes, but NO SPEAKER PHONE. How can LG or Verizon put a "gaget" phone on the market that doesn't have a duplex speaker? It's like the home phone speakers without a mic, what good is this? I'm also curious to see how the "heat touch sensative" system operates with gloves on or in the cold winter? My guess is that this phone wasn't exactly ...

It's amazing to me just how stupid people can be and talk out their @ss. Besides from my credentials of 10 plus years in investment banking, a NASD license and a masters in accounting; I guess once again some genius is going to try and make me look stupid on this board. I just try and get simple points across and yet there is constantly some moron who's willing to step up to the plate. So ...

I give credit where credit is due. I'm down in Memphis this week and the Verizon service has been flawless, and I'll be in South Florida on the weekend, and I'm sure it will work flawlessley as it always does. The problem I have with Verizon is the superior attitude of the employees and the constant incorrect information. If I call 611 I get one answer, in the store another and then finally the correct answer ...

Re: I WANT THE V710
May 31, 2006, 8:17 AM

On my first V710 I tried to save a few bucks with an after market charger - big mistake. The Moto's seemed very picky. It looks like there are 3 spring loaded charge connections. Over time on my first V710 it refused to take a charge no matter what. I switched to only Motorolla chargers. Also, I used a motorolla extended battery, which made the phone much thicker, but the normal battery life on ...

You are correct it's just an assumption, but the additional features with the E815 were: EV-DO high-speed data, streaming video playback, and more memory, which clearly he had no interest in; so the one feature the V710 had over the replacement model was the Tri-Mode fuctionality. Also, the V710 is fairly easy to hack for bluetooth functionality, copy/move, java installatiion, etc. if you know what you're doing. On of the biggest problem with both phones is the faulty ...

Having once studied psychology I am familiar with Bi-Polar disorders. I don't really see any ambivalence in my responses. I still hate Verizon and their business practices. I also have quite a few other people that support this position, i.e. the V710 lawsuit. I had to hack the phone to make it work properly because the j-@asses as Verizon screwed with all the manufactures functionality. How is this inconsistent? My hatred of Verizon and pompous ...

I purchased the v710 when it first came on the market. You may be correct, but once again the really bad customer service representative told me I had until June 13th, 2006 to still take advantage of the settlement. Now, that I hacked into the phone and turned on all the crap that Verizon tried to kill, I'm a little happier with the phone and can work on off loading all my data and information. My ...

I didn't go to an "Authorized Agent", I only have gone directly to Verizon Owned locations. Yes, Analog is being phased out, but my point is the majority of Verizon sales reps will tell you Analog is no longer supported. If you don't believe me just go to your local Verizon store and ask if you can get a tri-band phone that supports Analong - then you'll get the whole we don't have any Analong towers anymore ...

In the last firmware version of the V710, Verizon disabled the ability to copy or move stuff from the transflash card. My card will NOT transfer data into a computer with any reader, it recognized the device but the file directory is unreadable (yes, I tried various methods on various computer with various readers - but it still works without a problem in the phone). Fact: Once again just go the Jersey City Store in the newport mall and every person there will tell you all the Analog cell towers have been disabled. Also, the Boynton Beach, FL Verizon store also believes that Analog service is discontinued. I am actually agreeing with you, but unfortunately Verizon Sales Reps all over the country are misinformed. Unfortunately, they seemed uninformed on a number of issues. For example, on the V710 lawsuit. If ...

The reason this guy wants the V710 was it was one of that last Verizon phones that also supported Analog. Fact: Ask any verizon employee in the country and they will tell you 100% of the analog towers have been disabled. Fact: They are all lying, you can still use analog towers in certain areas. Actually, the V710 completely sucks until you learn how to completely hack the OS. Once you do that you can ...

No, not the end for Verizon, but a first step. My single loss means $1,200- less per/year for Verizon and more for another carrier. That's called Market Share loss and it one of the most critical barometers in a business environment with a fair amount of market saturation. Yes, Verizon can target new market segments, but the fact is loosing a 10 year customer that paid every bill in full each month, is a significant loss, ...

I appreciate the info, but it's to little to late. Yes, I had over the $59 plan, but the Verizon store in Jersey City, NJ in the Newport Mall, did NOT offer me a phone upgrade. They only offered the $50 charge for a replacement phone. I also didn't mention that Verizon did not offer to reimburst me for the Games and Ringers I lost. Sorry about the spelling mistakes, however; it seems my point was understood. Thank you for the support, I know a number of people out there are also fed up and frustrated with Verzion. I've been reading up and it's looking like either Cingular or T-Mobile will be the way to go. The both offer the "HTC Wizard 8125" which apparently has a huge following, and looks to be about the same size as my POS V710. I have been a Verizon customer for about 10 years, and I think I've finally had it. I recall having the LG-TM510 for a number of years and it turned out to be a real POS. By the end of it's life the phone stopped ringing, would randomly reboot, etc. So, along came the V710 the holy grail of phones, it was supposed to be everything to everyone. So what does verizon do, disable the Bluetooth ...

I have the exact same problem. I've never owned a phone that had so much difficulty charging. I constantly get an error unable to charge. I have an extended battery that's made by Motorolla. What's wrong with the Ear Speaker?
Aug 17, 2004, 12:07 PM

I went to demo this phone in the Verizon store yesterday and was surprised that the ear piece was so limited. I just moved a fraction of an inch and couldn't hear anything. Why would anyone design a phone that the ear piece can't be heard?????? Isn't this a primary funciton of a phone, i.e. to properly hear a conversation? Well Just wondering, to be perfectly honest, the people on the forum don't have a clue. You have almost the same probability of guessing the lotto numbers as the release date. It's possible that the phone will never be released and just superseded with a newer model. The plain truth is that not a single person on this forum has a clue. Why don't you just take the woman to small claims court? Most Small claims courts allow up to $2,000 in damager. You will have a difficult time collecting even though you may win - you can't get blood from a stone. You also should have reported the phone stolen and filled a police report. If my phone was taken by a psycho I would have called everyday until I knew it was turned off. I also ...

It seems that this thread has become about as interesting as: -Watching paint dry -Watching grass grow It seems on par with speculating when the next asteroid will strike earth - no that would be more interesting... All I know is my current LG TM510 is on it's last legs. :o I'd guess about $250 on a 2 year contract or $300 on a 1 year, but I could be wrong. The phone has every possible feature anyone could want: full duplex speaker, 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, 10 mb of memory, excellent predictive typing verses the crapy LG T9...and oh yeah you can also talk on it anywhere because it a tri-mode. If it's over $300 I probably will not get it and switch to ...

V710 vs. V810

Does anyone know what the cost of these phones will be? Realistic availability or feature differences? Seems everyone is just speculating. Any educated guesses would be appreciated. From what I'm reading the 810 will be out prior to the 710. The 710 seems to be a much better phone, but why would it have a lower model number.

Does anyone actually KNOW someone who has fallen victim, or is this just meant to generate more spam? I suggest you research the issue before you do anything on this posting: http://www.scambusters.org/809Sca m.html Apparently, this alleged scam has been around for over 5 years and has little basis for truth. Sort of an Urban Legend.
