It's the right specs It does have Super AMOLED However, it has Snapdragon processor because Microsoft forced all the OEM's to use that chip. So Samsung had to take their own chip out and grudgingly buy the Snapdragon to put in their phone. It sucks because the Hummingbird is a more powerful processor with MUCH better GPU inside.

Re: Bada and Meego === Failed OS's
May 25, 2010, 8:22 PM
in the Article: Samsung Wave, First Samsung Bada Phone, Launches in Europe forum

Bada is actually a cheaper alternative to full blown Smart OSes. Samsung's intention is to lower the entry price of a smart phone so that the masses out there can utilize it at a more affordable price and yet still get the benefit of a semi-fully operational smart OS. Samsung is the world 2nd largest mobile phone manufacturer. It sold over 225 million phones last year. If Samsung entices at least 1/4 of their user base to switch over ...

"isnt it the same phone but in GSM but they added more stuff 2 it???" If we follow your logic, then every single phone that comes out from now on is based on the previous but "more stuff 2 it". The phone that you are holding in your hand is basically an At&T "brick phone" just slimed down and with more stuff 2 it.

in the Samsung SCH-i830 / IP-830w forum

Um...if you had read the information more carefully you would find that Samsung DID wake up and offered a GSM version. This particular phone has BOTH CDMA AND GSM. They put in GSM in place of the Wi-Fi (SCH-i730).

The anti-bacterial coating is called "Silver Nano Technology". It's a Samsung patented anti-bacterial technology adopted from their washing machines and refrigerators. It uses billions of nano sized silver ions to essentially "break up" the membranes of bacterias so they are deemed ineffective to live. A recent study found there were lots and lots of bacteria on people's phones. This is one way to differentiate themselves from the competition. They are looking into adopting this technology into even more products.

Why the government SHOULD be involved
Aug 9, 2005, 4:44 PM

Phonegeek, do you honestly think phone companies would spend the money to upgrade their systems so people's lives could be saved? Do you really believe that that is going to happen in a capitalistic world where competition is cut throat and every dollars counts? I dont think so. If it were not for the government, this initiative wouldn't even be conceived in the minds of the executives. This venture is not profitable at all, in fact, they lose money ...

This agreement is about the use of fundamental technologies underlying both GSM and CDMA (which both companies have major patents). It does not go beyond that.

You will be able to play Flash games on your phone. I've seen some sample demnostrations of the SCH-S260 sold in South Korea playing Flash games. It was really neat. The potential for this new UI is limitless.

No Bluetooth for a reason.....
Mar 21, 2005, 9:09 PM
in the Samsung SPH-A800 / MM-A800 forum

It's not the phone manufacturers who dictate what goes on inside the phone, but the CARRIERS. The carriers (mostly CDMA) dont want Bluetooth enabled phones to be on their shelves because it eats away their profit margins from using the "extra services" they provide. (ie music downloads, software downloads etc)

It DOES have BLUETOOTH
