Try typing 'haha' in via ABC mode first and then send the msg. The next time you type 'haha' in via T9 it should remember the word. I just tried this on the enV Touch and it worked, hopefully it works the same for the enV 3.

That's correct, it does work on the Touch that way. Just type the new word in via ABC mode and send the msg. That word will then be saved into the T9 dictionary. :)
