Re: Verizon Data Plan Changes

Your commment proves to me that all you Verizon Sales people are no better than car dealers. Scum of the earth! Im tired of you guys asking "Oh do you want protection, how bouts a rip off case?, what about an undersized screen protector? , you should really get that unlimitied plan.." Well, Im glad I have my extra family line that I use to upgrade my phone early with the buddy option. I basically buy the phone with the ...

Free wfi tethering vs Verizon $20 tethering
Jun 23, 2010, 2:13 PM
in the Article: Google Now Offering Android 2.2 to Anyone forum

Does anyone know if a rooted device (such as my Moto Droid or the upcoming x) will support wifi tethering without a $20 addon plan? Or can Verizon enforce no tethering on the rooted device too? Currently i have a non-rooted Droid and run PDA-NET with free USB tethering. If I root it, I can get Bluetooth.

no! You have no sense of the point of the commercial. Go back to 3rd grade. its obvious that if you (the Verizon user) are wondering why you can reliably surf web data all over the place, well there is a Map for that. Meaning: the Verizon data coverage is so good all over the map, that you can surf fast and reliably. Meanwhile the guy with the iPhone cant load his pages cause no coverage. Stop crying here ...

Omnia II (i8000) at J&R in NYC to play with
Oct 8, 2009, 5:09 PM
in the Verizon forum

I just played with the Omnia II (i8000) today at J&R Computer World in downtown Manhattan. First let me start by saying J&R has all the unlocked imports (GSM primarily) months before their US siblings are ever released. I recall playing with the original Omnia i900 in July 08 there and it wasnt released by Verizon til Dec 08. So back to the Omnia II. Yes its not the Verizon version and yes it has the cube button, but other ...

Return Policy for phone purchased at retail price?
Oct 7, 2009, 7:52 PM

If I decide to purchase a phonme at Retail (say the Imagio for $580) what is the return policy? Is it still 30 days and $35 restock fee? Also I know there is a limit of one return on a contract purchased phone. Is there a return limit on Retail price purchased phone with no COntract? So can I purchas a phone at retail today, return it within 30 days for another phone at retail, and again within 30 ...

Does this have a stylus? What about GPS?
Oct 7, 2009, 4:43 PM

Some sites show this has a stylus and some show it has GPS. Verizon doesnt make note of either, so not sure if its crippled or missing. Anyone know for sure? If it has GPS, is it compatible with 3rd party apps? -E

Re: Batt Life and Heat Output??
Sep 18, 2009, 1:46 PM
in the HTC Touch Pro2 (CDMA) forum

I disagree with your statement about my performance with Omnia being similar toTP2. I tried the original TP last year and battery drained within 6-8 hours. These are 2 different phones, 2 different processors, etc. Same network. Granted if it were the same phone on 2 different networks that could be difference in batt performance too (ie: GSM vs CDMA). --Eric

Re: Batt Life and Heat Output??
Sep 18, 2009, 9:00 AM
in the HTC Touch Pro2 (CDMA) forum

Does anyone have any battery life feedback!! I read one review and he said it was at 50% by 11am. If this Pro2 doesnt make it throguh the entire day and evening, this would be a deal breaker for me. My Omnia lasts 1.5 to 2 days on a charge and the battery is 10 months old and still going strong. I know VZ promises an extended battery for the Pro2, but woould I really want to go from ...

hey neighbor! I checked the Westfield VZW store as well last friday and was disappointed. I also went to the store on 22 in Watchung, not only did they not have it, but their selection there sucks. They dont even have Omnia on display (which I guessing means the Omnia II will show up soon). I think Im going to go to a Sprint store so I can at least look at it, feel and touch it. Batt Life and Heat Output??
Sep 13, 2009, 11:08 AM
in the HTC Touch Pro2 (CDMA) forum

My big 2 questions I have on this new model is how is the real world battery life with the standard battery? Also does it get hot while in use? The prior Touch Pro had bad batt life and got very hot while i talked. I went with the Omnia after that. Now deciding to go with Pro 2 or Omnia 2 -E

Re: Not so fast.

Im confused. Does it or doesit not have GPS built in? If so is it usable with 3rd party apps or just VZNav? Also, if its standalone, does that mean its an actual GPS radio like SIRF, etc that picks up sattellites, not cell towers? --E

CDMA version much better than GSM
Sep 11, 2009, 8:34 AM
in the HTC Touch Pro2 (GSM) / Tilt 2 forum

Finally Verizon gets a hands down better HTC WinMobile Phone than Tmobile or ATT. LAst year Verizon fans suffered with the brick-like touch pro. But today Verizon fans around the world rejoice! Why? Cause the Touch Pro on Verizon is much sexier than the GSM version (rounded out the edges for styling and grip). And the best feature of all is 3.5mm stereo headphone jack.! HAH! Take that GSM losers. I know you will all praise stereo bluetooth, but ...

Ok. I missed the r for an i. I did mention the o760 was released 2 years ago (correct). I also mentioned the design was 3 yrs old. The i760 took over a year to go from testing device to production. Identicle design to 3-year old SCH-i760
Aug 26, 2009, 8:27 AM
in the Article: MetroPCS Begins Selling Messager II forum

Correct me if I am wrong, but this phone is strickingly similar to the SCH-i760 that was a 3 yr-old design launched 2 years ago (and was already dated when it launched). Dont get me wrong. I owned the i760 and loved it to death!! But to reincarnate a 3 yr-old design minus WinMobile is ludicrous. If you look at the chrome circular d-pad its the exact same part. Probably left over from the i760 parts bun. Interesting is ...

Re: Mifi - ripoff of Cradlepoint PHS300
May 19, 2009, 10:35 AM

This is an expensive (over time) rip off of the CradlePoint PHS-300. The PHS-300 allows you to plug in a USB modem or almost any cellphone via USB cable and use that cell phone as a modem. You can add tethering service to your cell account for as low as $15 a month if you already have a smartphone with Data. and the best thing of all is "NO CONTRACT" you can cancel your month to month service at ...

Re: Can I use WIFI even if I don’t have the internet package?
Jan 29, 2009, 9:01 AM
in the Samsung Omnia i910 forum

Your WiFi would work on any Omnia, regardless of if it has any type of service with Verizon or not. The real kicker is trying to get the Omnia from verizon without the data plan and expect the voice to work. Reason being is cause Verizon wont sell you the omnia without the dataplan. So unless you bought it full retail or bought one off ebay, your not gonna get an Omnia without data plan. And if you did ...

Re: question?
Jan 23, 2009, 8:39 AM
in the Samsung Omnia i910 forum

That is correct. All I have is the $30 per month data plan and my family voice plan. By using these 2 peices of software (ICS and WMWifirouter) you basically create a shared internet connection in the windows operating system that then enables you to broadcast it via the built in wifi. Thus you now have a wireless router in the palm of your hands. No usb cable requred, no extra fees to the crooks at Verizon, and you ...

The answer is yes. You can sync contacts with Windows Mail. see this link: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-680 0-xv6800/102900-sync-contacts-under-vista-wit hout-buying-outlook.html Also, for you Win Mobile veterans out there,it just dawned on me... Winodows Mobile/Pocket PC phones used to come with a single licensed copy of Outlook in the past. My original Samsung i700 came with it and I think my Moto Q and Sam i760 came with it as well. Though I recall all of them came with prior versions of Outlook then were available. So ...
