Re: Cingular response to "my circle"??

I appreciate everyone's feedback. While performing my world class customer service duties (lol), I have yet have any customer say to me "oh yeah, well I can go to Alltel/T-Mob and get 10 or 5 numbers for free". I just wanted to get feedback from others here.

Cingular response to "my circle"??
Oct 25, 2006, 10:16 PM
in the AT&T forum

I noticed recently that T-Mobile as released a My Five product to counter Alltel's My Circle. Has anyone heard if Cingular is going to do anything similar? When I first started with AT&T Wireless (2001), customers on a shared/family plan had the opportunity to designate their home number and a few others as "family" numbers. I know that by working in customer care, I should know of any rumblings, but believe it or not, customer care is often the last ...

Take this with a grain of salt, but the trainers in our call center are informing new hire classes (and have been for some time now) that the new name will indeed be AT&T Wireless and should occur sometime after the merger with Bell South is complete.

Re: Former Blue Reps...Employee Rate Plan changing to Orange ERP
Aug 7, 2005, 3:29 AM

It's only paying if you add on unlmtd n/w and unlmtd m2m. Also, the second line of service is also 100% free, and actually comes with more minutes (500) than the add'l dependent lines with the former AWS (300). My gripe is that they only allow 2 dependent lines, where as with AWS we could have 3. I had to drop one of my dependent lines because of it. Granted it turned out ok, because the line ...

Re: PTT Release date
Aug 7, 2005, 3:24 AM

That's what we were told this past Thursday during a training class. In fact, our trainer had just gotten back from Dallas in which he attended the PTT training. He mentioned the LG 7200 slider phone as being on the PTT dvice list. He said there was going to be a Nokia device, but he either didn't know, or couldn't remember the model #. He mentioned that as of now, PTT will be rolled out 9/1/05 for ...

No problem. Just wanted to share my POV about all that is going on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Alltel will let my wife out of her contract so we can move her over to Cingular. She talks WAY too much to other Cingular customer's to not have Cingular m2m.

Re: NEWS FLASH!!!

Sorry to disagree but... I am in OKC, and a former blue customer care rep, now an orange CSE rep. (our call center was not included in the divestiture) My wife, has a blue plan, which includes M2M to all blue AND orange customers. Since the merger took place, blue customers could call both blue and orange and it be counted as m2m I also know this to be true because the only two people she calls are her bosses ...

Re: CSS? YOUR TAKE
Mar 23, 2005, 5:34 PM
in the AT&T forum

According to our training, the CSS has caused a drop of 33% in customers calling in within the first month or two. I don't know how old that stat is as I only had the training a few weeks ago. I believe the CSS started late last year sometime, if I'm not mistaking.

Even tho it is a pain, I wish the customer still had to initial. It's just an extra step and verification that the customer knew at the POS what they were getting, which ultimately saves us time on the phones. I realize that the stores are often busy and shorthanded, but before a customer can be activated, their sigs/initials should be put down, even if it's just a one year deal. IMO of course. =)

Re: If I buy at Cingular.com and am not satisfied, can I exchange for new phone at Cing corp store?
Feb 8, 2005, 9:45 AM

According to what we were told, no you cannot. The return must go thru the same channels as through which it was originally purchased. That's one of the drawbacks to buying online, no face-to-face contact and no physical place to take the phone back. Sometimes the savings isn't really worth it, IMO. Good luck.

And what departments would those be? All calls are to be warm transferred unless the hold time is longer than 40 seconds, and only after the customer's expecations are set. (giving them the direct number, advising of the cold transfer, etc) Cold transfers are usually only allowed during holiday seasons or periods of extreme system outages, when the queue is busy.

I don't think it will hold up either. As of October, those AT&T Wireless towers suddenly became the property of Cingular and therefore are now part of the Cingular Wireless network. Also, in a couple of months, the name AT&T Wireless will no longer be availble for Cingular to use.

And then don't forget that when you do cancel/port, you might be charged thru the end of your current billing cycle, even tho you won't be using Verizon's service for the entire cycle. That's they way AWS does it as well. Your best bet is to check with your carrier and find out directly from them.

Now let's see if the FCC approves it. My guess is that it probably will happen as they don't even begin to talk about deals like this unless they have a good feel of what the FCC thinks beforehand. http://money.cnn.com/2005/01/3 0/news/fortune500/sbc_att.reut/index.htm?cnn= yes

Re: Company Name
Jan 29, 2005, 6:30 PM

Migration will have nothing to do with it. AT&T has allowed Cingular to continue using the name for an additional six months after the merger, which should be around April. There will still be a lot of AWS customers on AWS rate plans for awhile, for various reasons. Cingular won't force migrate people for awhile, but will make it so difficult to upgrade their 'blue' services, that they won't have any choice but leave or go to 'orange'. There's ...
