The device is like a tease. Top of the line specs with two limitations that close the door for many people. Its ludicrous that they just couldn't do it right. Somebody dropped the ball at HTC. The whole concept of a cutting edge device was ruined by a major omission....

Never a problem, tho, Legend. I have 5 extra batteries, 3 of them extended 2100mAh.....total 11,850mAh.....Might last a day powering a website while those built-ins sit in the wall charging up..... That's enough to run a website on my mighty Nexus!

Those two omissions place this device in Blackbury "innovation" land. Specifically, watch for the new BlackBury 10-10=0 to be released in 2016 with native email following 60 days after that.....

Agreed there are portable charging devices that can be carried around to charge the built in non-removeable battery, but the smallest of them is not that small, and its annoying to have to equip your pockets with more lameware than your device and its carrying case. For most people, that dead battery in a phone like the DNA must to be charged a few feet from that A/C outlet. This is confining and a limitation. The spare battery of ...

My point wasn't using so much input that I run a battery down. It has nothing to do with capacity, but consumption instead. Since there is a range provided by the moderator, its seems obvious, people will have in their possession, at times, a device they started out their day with, at the lower end of that range. Consequently, they might not elect to stand around waiting for the thing to charge, so they pick up ...

I have a simple question regarding built-in batteries. Suppose your out in the field and not tethered to an a/c outlet. Your battery is on the downside of the charge....almost "out of gas" so to speak. Conversely, when my Galaxy Nexus is almost depleted, I throw in a fresh Extended battery 2100mAh and I'm good to go with a full charge. I kind of think you'd be S.O.L. with your dead as a door nail HTC ...

That's a VerSinkZen exclusive. Promises without substance. Anyone a victim of BlackBury updates via VerBlowZen? You'll know what I mean. Call customer service, ask about this update. haha... I read the Torch review on this site. The portrait Keyboard was stated as the worst he ever saw on any phone since Alexander Graham Bell's prototype. Having suffered with the Storm series for several years, it never ceased to amaze me with BB unpredictabiltiy and lack of dependability. From updates that downdated the device to 10 minute reboots, crashes, outages, and broken promises. For crying out loud, they were even promoting putting their lame PoopBook tablet on the moon at one time. Put it on the moon? they could even put it on display in Staples!

in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (LTE) forum

I purchased the Galaxy Nexus at release time and have a pretty good handle on the positives and its limitations. The native ICS from Android has been improved immeasureably with the inclusion of 3rd party apps which have enhanced performance significantly. In my situation, installing over 180 apps and running close to 50 widgets and 20 folders, there are ram considerations that have affected performance. With so much data to load, there is some lag time closing apps. I ...

Not for a long time! First, VZN must release an update for ICS 4.06 because CDMA is not compatible with the GSM update 4.05 for other carrier devices. VZW must then discount the original handset the way they've done with the HTC Rezound (from $299 to $49) or at least offer some kind of price reduction to deplete stock at hand. There has been no update support for the multitude of "fixes" in signal strength and other parameters ...

Thanks for the well wishes on my Android Galaxy Nexus. It sure has a large learning curve and a lot of complexity. For all the "slams" on my Storm, I still find it useful for business and the email client is in a class by itself. I use AOL and those emails hit the device the instant it does so on my PC. That's real time effectiveness. Its actually performing better now since taking the ...

Maybe, almost, possibly. A lot of it rides on whether or not they'll be in the Mobile Phone business by the end of next year. At the rate the Stock is going now, it should be selling for at least 79 cents a share when they promise the new OS10-tative, which will be released 60 days after the announcement without native email  . Congrats on your return to masochism-land. I was wrong about the form-factor. RIM is not using Fisher-Price plastic on that tough as nails under 4" screen. Its either Hasbro or Mattel. I'm glad you understand how your question, as worded, appeared to be referring to the Storm2, which a great many users would consider an upgrade defining it as a smart phone to be a major RIM accomplishment. No, the Torch cannot be upgraded to QNX, by any dimension. The two core performers, OS7 & QNX will have completely different parameters by which to function. QNX will be written & developed with 100% incompatibility for the 9850 series. This ...

For your needs, if you like touch devices, its the way to go for now. Remember, your device looks and feels like a smartphone should. Carrying around a Torch is reminiscent of a $29 buy/one/get one free handset. It really has an awful form factor of cheap feeling and looking components, and will go the way of the original At&T Torch (thrown under that bridge), not even half way thru your contract. Shamrock, your experience with the 9530 with 5.0 is not dissimilar to my 9550 with OS5.0.713. I did purchase the Torch and returned in a few days later. The form factor, coupled with user interaction determined its fate for me. From a physical standpoint, I was not impressed with the hardware or its design. The device is built with a plastic screen that is way too sensitive for handling and very susceptible to scratching, as opposed to Sure-Press ...
