They do "ALLOW" you to purchase phones in the same place you can get service. Get an unlocked phone off of ebay and pop a sim into it and you are on your way NEVER have to buy one directly from at&t or T-Mobile. You can get phones from other sources for CDMA as well. Once again people don't realize that they don't have to provide the phone for you but they do. Once again, Verizon doesn't make the ...

What many customers don't understand (I'm not directing this towards you pilot :) ) is that Verizon, T-Mobile..etc. don't make the phones. People love to complain to the cell phone company that they are responsible for replacing the phone. The cell phone industry is one of the very few service industries that allows the customer to purchase the equipment there too. My cable company doesn't allow me to purchase TVs through them let alone replace my TV when ...

Personally, I would call back and see if you can talk to a rep who knows what they are doing. Every company has unlock codes and at&t has always been able to give the unlock code for overseas trips. I haven't been corrected on this by any at&t employee so I'm assuming it is still correct. I've noticed with all of the carriers you get some customer service reps who are awesome and others who really don't care to ...

Do you have an account with at&t? Usually if you have had your account for a little bit you can call customer service and tell them you are going overseas and need to unlock the phone.

You can either go with a corporate plan or split your lines into two 3 line family plans. When I was with at&t that is what a lot of people did because certain stores can't handle corporate accounts. This was a little over a year ago so someone please correct me if that has changed. Thanks.

It is free if you have T-Mobile service. T-Mobile lets you use the blackberry browser so there is no extra charge for wifi internet. If you want to make calls over it though there is a charge for that.

Obviously it's not marketed to "soccer moms" but I think it is a great idea to have a phone like this. I have worked for multiple GSM carriers and none ever had a real rugged phone like CDMA carriers like Sprint carry. I think this is great for workers who don't have contracts though Spring/Nextel.

Don't get your hopes up too much. AT&T has plenty of issues with it's 3G coverage as well. Hopefully nothing ever goes wrong with your service because it's great to you now but once they have you under contract AT&T could care less about your quality of service. This coming from a guy who used to work for them.

Isn't MetroPCS and Cricket owned by the same company? If this is the case then you won't see Cricket down there at all since it's a MetroPCS area.

I totally agree with you and that's the way I operate but the managers and higher ups only cared about asking if they wanted it, not actually selling it or scamming them into it by trying to give something away with it in the hope that the customer would forget to take it off before their next bill. It's frustrating when you are trying to do the best for the customer but know that you will get yelled at ...

It depends what region of AT&T you are in. When I used to work for them they preached to us to basically shove the media plan down the customer's throat until they bought it. We had to be told no 3 times or we would get in trouble if our manager overheard the sale. I saw my managers multiple times get yelled at because people didn't listen after the first no or two.
