Re: I work for VZW, here's how I see it

in the Article: FCC Not Satisfied with Verizon's ETF Explanation forum

Okay, I watched the youtube video....both in fact. 1) The first video was a news store about stressful jobs and how customer service jobs are stressful. Wow, really? Just because a news center used a local call center as an example of a stressful job does not make one call center/company worse than another. Also, if you truly are feeling so stressed that you are afraid you will drop dead at your desk then you need to address that ...

If you are on an america's choice plan there is a $5 charge for mobile web and then it would use airtime. However, nationwide would be pay per mb or $15. If you have an enployee discount you would probably want to do the connect plan as no discounts cover features under $24.99 or $29.99. Connect gives you mobile email which is actually pretty good. If you wanted vcast video then you would pay like $3 for 24 hour ...

Re: Need help with phone upgrade eligibility question
Mar 23, 2009, 8:53 AM
in the Verizon forum

An AOL over the phone would have reduced the contract to one year in this situation. The line would not show eligible for an annual upgrade until it has been on the new account for a full year as a price plan change/AOL will affect the ability for an annual upgrade. If you get a good rep, they can look on previous accounts and check that the line was on a high enough plan and make the exception. An ...

My bad, I misunderstood what you said. You are right on which is a nice change on this issue. Customer service wouldn't be able to remove the feature either as the system won't allow it for the newer pda and for the bb. Now, if only we can get everyone on the same page.....

That is incorrect, any phone launched prior to 11/14 will not require a data package. If your system will not allow you to activate it then you should contact your account manager or activations for assistance. Think about, person A bought the phone and does not require a data package but person B bought it three days later and does? Then person A sells the phone, which was purchased without a data requirement, and then suddenly the phone requires ...

Yes, it does not matter where you purchase the phone (vzw, ebay, friend, devil.....) If it originally launched before 11/14 it will not require a data package. Now, I'm sure at some point this may change as vzw sells out of their stock of these pda phones but even then it can be worked out. The billing system will not allow a 'new' (launched after 11/14) to be activated without a data package. So, basically these devices are grandfathered ...

in the BlackBerry Storm 9530 forum

Here's the deal, prior to 11/14 only blackberrys requied a data package. Any pda/smartphone released AFTER 11/14 will require a data package as well as any html enhanced browser phones (something like the dare but not the dare) NO PHONE LAUNCHED PRIOR TO 11/14 WILL REQUIRE A DATA PACKAGE NO MATTER WHEN IT IS ACTIVATED! At this point, there are no regular phones which require the vcast vpak though I wouldn't be surprised if some came out before the end of ...

Re: Derizon now will charge $35.00 to TRY a phone from their horrible network.

in the Nextel forum

1) Every phone company loses money on the initial phone sale with the intent of gaining that money (and a profit) back during the contract. No more contract = no gain back of money lost. 2) Every phone company has idiots who are trying to make the sale on the data package rather than the right phone for the right customer. I don't have a problem saying that there are areas that VZW needs to work on. While I am ...

Re: $35 Dollar Re-Stocking Fee Starts Today
Nov 18, 2008, 10:25 AM

You, sir, are an idiot. VZW is charging the fee to encourage sales reps to get the right phone for the customer the first time and to prevent people who are repeatedly getting a phone and return it. Think about the storm which is getting ready to launch, VZW is already offering the phone at a great price and taking the hit on the cost. What happens if someone decides they don't like it enough to pay fpr the ...

Re: Question for Call Center Folks

I think calling off sick would be a huge problem and could likely cause you to lose your job. You can try talking to your sup and they may be able to work something out if you have a religious serivce or something to attend. Keep in mind, too, if you call off sick you won't get paid for that day or get your holiday pay plus, if you are on corrective action at the end of the year, ...

If you call the warranty department they may take pity and let you do the upgrade early with your ne2. Its hit or miss, though. Sometimes it works and sometimes you get someone who does nothing. You also have to wait for the phone to be shipped. If you have an employee discound on the account you may get a deal on a phone.

I was on the aim website under the blackberry section. There is info for other carriers but nothing for vzw. I hate the mobile I'm program that vzw has.

Talked to someone once who had drop his phone in water and let it sit out to dry but then someone told him to put it in rice because it would dry faster. Somewhere, this guy gets the ingenious idea to put the phone in the microwave.....WITH the rice! He melted a hole in the screen and there was rice burnt into the phone. He thought he could get a warranty replacement because it was dry and still didn't ...

Anyone had any luck downloading the aim client for the curve on vzw? I have been waiting for the 4.5 release so I could get it and I'm still having no luck!
