Simply because I like LG phones better then Samsung. I really dont use data, but still like a good device. If there was a good choice of device's that dont require the data plan, I wouldnt mind it so much, but it seems to be to get a good phone, you have to have extra crap with it.

After all the research i did, why would I be in a rush to activate? I was never told that it was a possibility to have to add a data plan. I waited a couple days to see if my wife wanted to use the phone or not. Once again, why should it matter how long I waited? The system shows the warranty date as the day I bought, which is before the 8th.

this is not new.
Ive been on one of these plans for all most a year now. I was already on a myCircle plan, and last year wanted to add messaging, I got 100more minutes, and unl messaging to m2m, and MyCircle, +1000 messages for only $10 more then I was paying.

As for at&t, BB data plans are $30/mo, and $45 for enterprise plans. as for texting, you can add the texting to any plan, not have to change your rate plan just to change what you want for texting.
And as for unlimited. nights and weekends, at&t's lowest rate plan, offers 5k n&w mins. thats about the same as unlimited. I've been working for at&t for close to 5 years now, and have only ever seen one person ...

but it is all a mute point. I was on my way home on Fri., and received a call from a local reseller in my area, informing me that the device had been stolen from there store, and I was going to be arrested for possession of stolen propriety. I should of known it was to good to be true.

Well, aside from Brick breaker, those reasons, and able to use mp3's as ring tones for MSG, and a great price on the device. id of rather had the bold, or something with a true qwerty keyboard, but got it at a reseller going out of business sale for $40, and no contract. found it hard to argue with that, and it is a MUCH better device then the Q I had!

A question about MMS with Alltel/.
I have a BB pearl 8130 with no data plan, and a data block. I have had it this way from the time I bought the device at full price. I was able to send and receive picture messages with no problem until last week. When I call tech. support, I'm told I cant access pic. messaging with the data block on the line, and have to have the plan.

Sprint employee plan
I had left Sprint a few month ago, and was on a employee plan, and had the OK to go to the old employee referral plan. I didn't want to pay ETF fees for the second cell service i had at the time also, but am out of contract now, and really want to go back to Sprint. Is there anyway to get back onto that old employee referral plan? It was $30/mo, per line.

I'm not really liking any of the phones that Alltel is offering at this time, and if Verizon wont let me keep my current plan if I process an upgrade, I don't really want to stay with them. That really sucks though. :cry: I love the my circle I'm on, the 10 numbers, and one extra for having it over two years.

I'm glad to here I'm not the only one!! I work for at&t, but trust my Alltel! I just hope VZN is as good. I know that they are almost the same, but i've been in places that were VZN home networks, and Alltell still got better signal, and no dropped calls.

Check with the maker of the phones. PDA's do process information quicker, and more of it. Also the non pda device's do not get the full content of the web pages, and do not get as much data sent to the phone. Therefore, do not on average use as much data as a PDA device.
On a PDA device more data = higher band width = system knowing it is a pda device. Sorry, but check facts before ...

The PDA plan is $30 a month now, and the system does not usually remove the $15/mo plan, it will just start charging you pay per use charges of $.01 per KB. Also your mywireless account will not auto update to the phone you are using, but the system might recognize that the device is a smart phone due to the amount and speed of the data transfers. I agree. i like having a key pad. touch screen is nice, but i cant always look at my phone while i am typing a message, and keys make it much easer to use the phone with out looking at it. I had a Palm for awhile, and love it. Just cant afford to replace it right now.

VZN could do like AT&T, and that is to advice people of possible ppu charges, and that smart phone can connect to the internet automatically, and offer to place a block on the line if the person does not want data usage on the phone. sounds easy, and really does work.

The financial repercussions would be that any data used would be charged at PPU rates, and you still pay for the unl. media plan.
Might as well just go with no data plan at all.
