Re: BB Bold calls are muffled sounding to the people I call

in the BlackBerry Bold 9650 forum

Finally figured out the muffled call issue. Thanks for the help. Hold the BB naturally, finger tips on edge left side of phove (volume rocker side), thumb along the right edge. Make sure mic hole is aimed at the center of your palm and at mouth level. Finally, hold the phone out from your face slightly. Phone call quality out was significantly improved. My only issue is I shouldn't have to work so hard for good voice quality! Oh well. I ...

I guess I am a perfectionist. I like a phone to have crystal clear voice capability. This used to be a standard on a BlackBerry. It is ridiculous to have to hold a phone in a certain way to get better voice sound. Which by the way doesn't work very well. I returned the Bold 3 times and it is the same issue. WHAT HAPPENED TO QUALITY!!!!! I have called Verizon...give them a test call..and they ...

RIM is so far behind it is just a matter of time before they become Palm like. RIM is arrogant, customer service is poor, and frankly their phones have gotten worse. I have the Bold 9650 only because I have to, not because I want to. BB used to have the best sound quality. Now it is mediocre at best. My phone sounds muffled and I have tried 3 different Bolds thinking it had to be defective. ...

BB Bold calls are muffled sounding to the people I call
Jul 1, 2010, 8:17 PM
in the BlackBerry Bold 9650 forum

Blackberry used to be the standard in clear voice quality. I mean in the past a Blackberry was as close as you could get to landline sound. I have been very frustrated because calls coing in are very clear, but I sound muffled to others. I called my work voice mail and left a message and the call did sound muffled. I have done a complete wipe and still it sounds muffled. I even ...

AT&T Network needs to be improved. Inside buildings AT&T's network does not seem to penetrate very well. I was glad to see they are upgrading, but I will wait an see. iPhone call quality is great. If AT&Ts network was better I would be thrilled. I am keeping my fingers crossed. If Verizon gets the iPhone...I'll drop AT&T instantly! (I will pay the penalty gladly to get more consistent reception)

AT&T just released their GPS Navigator. I installed it on my IPhone and it works well. I previously purchased Navigon, it is ok, not great..loses signal. Just load AT&T Navigator, but remember it costs 10 bucks a month.

I have the same problem, but I think it is the AT&T network. It is inconsistent and drives me nuts. I am in a very strong 3G area....but the signal will switch to Edge and almost no bars. AT&T is a network that must be having problems they simply will not or can not fix. Maybe it is the Union workforce. Unions generally succeed in making a workforce weak and eventually killing a company. ...

Call quality is excellent on my iPhone 3Gs. Reception is not even. I think that is due to the AT&T network. They just cannot seem to fix their network. Love the AT&T phones, especially the new iPhone, but I am not happy with the weak network. I cannot understand how it is possible for me to have great reception and then poor reception in exactly the same spot. 3G then to Egde. ...

I have owned the HTC Touch Pro and the iPhone. I also have owned many other smartphones. The iPhone is soooooo much better than the HTC Touch Pro. The Touch Pro needed numerous tweeks for it to operate half as fast as the iPhone. The touch interface on the Touch Pro is fair and not consistent. The iPhone has the only touch interface of all touch phones that works like it should. My only complaint about ...

Removing the back of the Jack

I have tried both. I much prefer the WM 6.1 (upgradeable to 6.5) of the Jack. Both are similar devices. Build on the Nokia is slighlt better and it is a bit thinner. Key boards are basically equal, both good. I could not get the Nokia to sync with my work computer. I am able to sync and use Xpress mail to get my work email, and calendar with the Jack. I also like ...

GPS through contacts
Jun 13, 2009, 8:55 AM
in the Samsung Jack i637 forum

I would like to be able to go into Contacts and be able to "Get Driving Directions" through a menu choice. That would then link into GPS and get ATT Navigator engaged with the address of the Contact I selected. The BlackBerry does this and so do other phones. Why is this a problem!! It is sooooooo simple.

When will there be a new Pearl Replacement?
Jun 13, 2009, 8:48 AM
in the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 forum

I really liked my BB Pearl. I cannot understand why there isn't a new version out yet. It is the right size, but in needs huge upgrades - better screen, more memory, WiFi, 3G speed etc. Frankly verizon doesn't have a great phone these days. None of their new PDAs is rated well. The Storm was a huge disappointment, the HTC Touch Pro is not very responsive and it has the worst keybaard of any of ...

I ordered the Nokia E71x and was impressed with the build and size. Unfortunately the Nokia PC Suite would not allow me to sync with my work computer. My Windows Mobile phones have never had a problem. I spent hours on this issue and even was sent directly to Nokia. They had no idea what to do either.I even sent back the Nokia and got a second E71x and had the same problem. I was ...

This is absolutely absurd. It is the principle of the thing! It begins with camera clicks and ends with complete control. Government has become way too intrusive and is getting worse! Liberals want to control thinking, acting, what you can or can not do, tell you what is good for you, what isn't, what kind of car you can drive, what radio shows you can listen too and so it goes. The new administration wants ...

VZ Navigator - Mapping from address book?
Sep 30, 2008, 6:09 AM

Is it possible to navigate to a paticular address by importing from the PDA Address book to Navigator or to go into the address book and select an address to navigate to? Having to type in every address is a pain. On a Blackberry, for example, I was able to go directly to the address book, select "Get directions to.." and it would turn on Navigator, with no manualb entry. I could also get an address from my ...

Is AT&T a good carrier to use?
Aug 9, 2008, 9:09 PM

I have tried AT&T and really want to like them but I have found their network to be inconsistent. I tried the network with a Blackberry Curve and then again with a Tilt. I am currently a Verizon customer. I tested the Sprint network recently with a Treo 800w. My experience was disappointing. I had the unlimited plan (A great idea). I also liked being able to force EVDO Rev. A. However I found the following issues: 1. Coverage was not as good as Verizon. 2. Voice Clarity was inconsistent, great sometimes and then poor others. 3. I found the answer myself: You can view a map of a contact's address directly from your Today screen. 1. Make sure your phone is turned on and that you are inside a coverage area. 2. Go to your Today screen. 3. Using the keyboard, begin entering one of the following for the contact you want to map: First name. Last name. First initial and last initial separated by a space. First and last name. 4. Highlight the contact's name and press Center . 5. Select Find. (The Maps ...

I have the Treo 800w and Sprint Navigation. I was disappointed that I can not select an address from Contacts and navigate to the address without having to type it in. I am also a Verizon Customer and with TeleNav on my Blackberry I can simplyload my contact's address and then use GPS to get there. Sprint's Navigation has a place to load contacts from the phone, but it only pulls name and phone number which is absolutely ...
