Re: Storm w/out ETF
Coincidence. Today I took a friend to a local Verizon store to get her ported over from ATT. While the rep. helped us, nearby, two other customers expressed dissatisfaction with their new 'Storms'. Both asked if they could change phones.
I spoke with one nearest to me and she seemed overwhelmed/ignorant of the Storm's capabilities.
We left before the Storm complaints were resolved.

Re: New pricing packages effective 11/16/08
Agreed - Follow the clarity of their European branch - Vodaphone. Very simple and clear (reasonable) pricing plans.
Re: Storm "Plans"
Thank you for the info.
Re: Storm "Plans"
Thanks for the replies. I am a bit confused with the different plan options needed to make use of the Storm's features. It appears that the Storm is being marketed to a 'general audience' (challenging the iPhone) rather than strictly to business (needing push-mail).
For voice, texting, data/web-access/browsing, and email, what are the plan components needed to make the purchase of the Storm worthwhile, versus a non-Blackberry PDA-phone?
Voice - 450 min - $39.95
Voice - 450 min - Unlimited Prem. ...
Storm "Plans"
Like many current Verizon customers, the Storm potential has me interested. Any idea on plan costs?
On the Vodaphone UK website the presentation is 'better' than their US cousin's and plan pricing is listed.
Examples:
Phone is "Free"- 18 month Contract
1500 mins and unlimited texts
Unlimited Mobile Internet and BlackBerry email
55 pounds = $84.00
Phone is "Free" - 18 month Contract
600 mins and Unlimited texts
Unlimited Mobile Internet and BlackBerry email
40 pounds= $61.00

Re: Explanation!
With the GSM SIM slot, does this mean that a U.S. T-Mobile or ATT SIM in-place would allow phone function on that account?

Re: How good is the service?
Cent. Coast Calif. - Have had Verizon/(GTE) cell service for many years. ATT offers no signal at my residence. My girlfriend has ATT in a nearby town and has no problems at home. When we travel, Verizon almost always has a signal, and is dropped only in mountainous areas. ATT is very sporadic, and often she's using my Verizon phone as there's no ATT available. This is absolutely the case if you travel to rural areas. I've had no ...
