Must not have read around yet but the $599 price is unsubsidized so no contract is required. Practically pre-paid data with built in 3G vs ipad with the mifi so you gotta carry around 2 devices to get on the web. The Tab has LOTS more features including 2 camera 3mp front/5mp back, video recording/calling, HD playback supporting Divx/Xvid and HDMI out with dock accessory, expandable memory, bluetooth 3.0 and DLNA for multimedia streaming to DLNA compatible devices along ...

then you just go to (as far as the droid goes) settings, about phone, then select System update and it will then search for the newest update. Blackberry's get updated via their Desktop Manager software.

This week Motorola will be pushing out the new update OTA, which will include, new 3D Gallery with Multi touch, Voice-to-text, Multi touch in Browser :D , new Music App, Weather/News Genie Widget app, pre load the Google Goggles App (already in market), new Music app, and a few bug fixes along with a Fix for unauthorized access
with lock pattern, Business card scanner!

you cant activate a Verizon device on Sprint, wont work! Also starting Nov.15 Verizon will be applying a $350 ETF if you cancel any "Advance device aka the Droid." At that point you might as well buy the phone at Full Retail instead of trying to get the phone at promotional price regardless of where you purchase it at!

after you have successfully copied a link, open up Opera 5 and click the url box and just hold your finger in the blank space and then you will get a little pop up allowing you to paste the url

Just downloaded Opera Mini 5 Beta this morning and so far it is great! Soo fast and love the speed dial feature on the homepage along with the little google search box. Best browser so far. Loaded a full website in less than 10 seconds with my BB 9530 Storm and I didnt even have EVDO. The flick scrolling could be a little bit better but other than that from what i've played with it is amazing!

I have .191 still in my Storm and LOVE it!! I can live without a native Facebook app and a Camera for a much FASTER,SMOOTHER,Flick scrolling and Threaded messaging OS! Definitely worth it!!! Also now that Crackberry shows how to add certain file into storm to download files over the internet bigger than 2.3mb is Amazing also!!

Verizon already does this and actually I sign more people up for blackberry's with this requirement than what i did before it was mandated. If you CANT afford the damn data package then get a regular dumb phone that doesn't require one! It's that simple. Blackberry's are for the advance user so if you cant afford it then dont get one!

i have flashed my Verizon i910 with the new beta ROM and works great! Use google Maps and love my Omnia even more, especially with Spb Mobile Shell3 installed as my new UI!!! Going to Flash my Omnia later with the new Cooked ROM WM6.5!!!

as far as media player...dont use WMP! it sux! I use either S2P or the Touch player that it came with. Now as far as customizing the phone i use PointUI2 and LOVE it! When the pro (paid) version comes out im going to actually purchase it! It's FAST, finger friendly and has a much better look! For awhile i used the Samsung Today theme and that works great too but got bored with it after awhile and now ...

why would u want a whole song to go off just for a SMS?! too long! just put the whole song into your Windows folder of the Device memory and then select the song in sounds/notifications!

for the phone keypad lock while in a call! Now i dont have to worry. I just use iContact and iDialer and have iDialer set for when i hit the send button then thats what pops up!! Love my phone and everything it can do!

Everyone must try this out! I put this on my phone and it is awesome. I cant wait til the Pro version is done as i may just purchase it! Even the free version is really nice. Smooth scrolling and very finger friendly!!

When putting mp3's or anything on the Omnia change the usb to pc mode to Mass Storage Mode instead of Activesync! If its sayin storage memory too low then your most likely putting everything in the Device Memory and not the 8gb My Storage part! The Device memory cant hold much. Only get about 97MB of free space. I've got bout 200 songs and a movie and a BUNCH of 3rd party programs and games on mine and still ...

9/10!!! Love It!! If the pre-installed Opera browser suported Flash and if the device had more RAM then it would be a definite 10!! SO MANY 3rd party applications that can be installed on it too!!

thats because the Omnia doesnt support Flash! You need to download the Skyfire browser which supports flash for sites like hulu.com!!

First off you are DOING THIS AT OWN RISK!! I took the risk and am glad that I did!!
First you need a registry edit program to do this! I have PHM registryedit. (google it)
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SECURITY/PHONE/SKIN
Click ENABLED & then Change the Value Data to 0!
Save and close out of regedit and wait about 30 seconds and then do a soft reset! All done and no more keypad lock and a much better look than the Windows Default!!

Setting mp3 as SMS Alert!!
After some extensive research online through forums and blogs, I have found a way to make your own ringtone/alert as your sms alert. I took one of my songs and just cut about 3 seconds of it and then stored it inside the Windows folder of your Device and now my SMS alert is my song!!
Try it if you like, I love it!

i dled the VGA for mine and it looked like crap as far as fitting the screen. I then uninstalled the VGA version and then installed the QVGA and that worked perfect! Love the S2u2 also!!

it worked on my Omnia just fine. Hopefully you ppl remember that you do have to turn Location On !! Gotta switch the GPS from E911 to Location on for the Navigation to work properly!

i had gotten a FRU from Verizon for my Omnia which didnt come with a screen protector and so far i've noticed much better touch screen response, especially when scrolling!! I'm just taking my chances and going unprotected! (nothin different when im with the ladies! LOL)!!

no the widgets cannot be modified! There is a new update out for the GSM version that allows that and adds some more cool things(in beta i think). Not sure if Verizon is going to pick up this update to allow us to modify our widgets!

After speaking with a very nice and smart technical support person with Verizon, it's obviously been confirmed that the Omnia has a problem with the WiFi either not being able to turn on or connection problems. Samsung knows about this issue and is working on a fix as we speak.
If you DONT download and install VZAppZone then you shouldnt have a problem with the WiFi. Something on the inside of the device makes it so when that is downloaded ...
Awesome shortcut to End Tasks!!
i found this cool shortcut just playing with mine. But if you take and swipe your finger up between the phone and main menu buttons on the main screen a little box will slide up allowing you to end all tasks or to just chose quickly to end a certain task. LOVE IT! No more having to go through the menu or making the task manager a shortcut.
