Movies on the Versa
I have been trying to fiddle with formats to watch movies on the versa, but the only thing i can get to work is 3gp, and it only fills 2/3 of the screen. I use a Pinnacle program to record the video in mpg format in the firs place, and then use Freez3gp to format it into 3gp (as 3gp2 didnt work). anyone have better luck? I used handbrake to make a mpg4 but that was ...
Re: No recall
I work for VZW and never heard anything about recall, and highly doubt any such thing considering the software updates already released. 12/15 was est latest ship date for orders placed before 12/7. Makes me wonder if the guy he talked to was Auth Agent or actual VZW employee misinformed
Re: software upgrades vs updated phones
Blackberry Maps... works the same way doesn't it? VZ Nav is awesome app though, and on free month promo right now anyway. well worth it.
Other apps in app store due 1Q09. There's other stuff on craackberry and verizon's app store.
Re: Traded in Storm for Omnia
Not sure how the price credit happened, but good for you.
I work for VZW, and started playing with this device immediately upon finding them in the shipment last week. I like it better than the storm:
better camrea, awesome panorama shot, optical mouse pointer option, widgets, accuarcy, wifi, radio, and smart reader business card reader, and size
the storm has some bugs, but there will be software fixes, so i'm not considering those. I like the clickability of the storm ...
Re: omnia and music memory issue
thi8s phone isn't phaspody capable yet. if you bought the songs outright, not just the free subscription music, ti should work, ifne, i haven't worked with the music at all yet.
Re: is this a good choice?
this device requires a $30 min data plan, and can also take adv of wifi. otherwise like he said dare or voyager for $15-20 depending on plan. check out the new connect plan, only $10 more than select (unlim txt)
Re: not a world phone
but it will be capable of roaming in cdma countries (carribean, canada, etc)
Re: Proprietary
come on... bluetooth stereo guys. there are plenty of discontinued headsets you can get a good deal on... no wires. an adapter is no big deal for the radio function
Re: Better than iPhone or Storm
wow holy sidetracked thread. Now i have used this phone, inactive an activated, and wow. we were able to drop ship today, and i am having storm potentials try it. now i dont have a ton of experience with previous windows devices, aside from coworkers being wary, and knowing the quirky 6900's issues. but 6.1 eems very smooth, responsive, and accurate, aside from minor misdialing on dialpad. camera has so many cool functions, try ...
Re: Voice Only??
With programs like Iphone book, wireless sync and other in vcast system, many handsets can accomplish those feats. But i see many customers come in that refused data pckgs despite warning about how easy it is to use data, and for it to add up. The point of these devices is to be mobile connectivity platforms. If this is what you want, but without the mandatory data, go to the dare. The camera's not ...
NEW Update
there is a new update now available instore. One of our employees got it yesterday and it makes it way better in repsonsiveness accuracy and browser speed. the functionality makes it feel like a different phone, but he is so much happier.
Re: OK, Has Anyone Tried Tethering A Laptop With This Phone????
it is absolutely tetherable. I work in a store, and haven't had a cust come back with a review but we have set up 2-3 people so far wiht the tether feature. and the 755 is tetherable as well. mnay of our phones are tetherable. Dont know who told you they weren't, was it an auth agent?
Re: Tried turning "voice privacy" off -- can't tell difference
you can use itap predictive txting.
Re: SWEET! CORRECTION sorry
dare vs boulder???
um why not keep both, do your ESN change online for free. but the worlds apart as phones, each great but way different intent of use. the dare rocks, but the boulder is for rugged use.
Re: plan it
yup, PTT optional feature to add for $5
Re: The Boulder kicks this phones ass!!!
FYI we are displaying working units in store now, so check your location to test the live boulder, and the faster PTT between demo phones or other stores
Re: The Boulder kicks this phones ass!!!
Boulder is Water resistant, adventure isn't. Adventure has more music capabilities, and better camera, and can handle mobile email. and the adventure can do chaperone for parents and families. that said, i love the styling. I know tons of people who have been chomping at the bit for the new G'zOne. but the motorola is sharper styiling and more compact, akin to the RAZR for those who thought the orig G'zOne was too bulky. ...
Re: Question on Verizon Push to Talk
you can add it to all lines of a fam share
Re: Cases
i like the enclose universal magnetic flap cases we offer, as far as protection goes. but for folks that like clips and want quick access, there's a new holset that stores it face in we just got this past week. otherwise, for jean wearers... i'd go with the clear snap on, for the above mentioned lint gathering reasons. Be advised the clear snap on takes a bit of finagling (sp) to get to snap together, jsut lining ...
Re: Handwriting recognition
when your in the handwriting mode hit options and set delay. i found i pick my finger up and leave gaps in the letters, so i adjusted the delay to allow me to fill gaps, or write better. your can set it for cursive or standard lettering also. my only disappointment so far is that there is no place on its case or holsters for a stylus, cause it makes that function much better
Re: IMAP / Email Accounts / Outlook
yeah it looks like you need push email, so blackberrys are your best device. i love the curve
Re: Handwriting recognition
you can adjust the recognition delay, so once you get used to it, you can write a word or so at a time. use your nail, or a stylus for best results
Re: IMAP / Email Accounts / Outlook
appreciate the correction
Re: IMAP / Email Accounts / Outlook
you can set up the Mobile email package ($5 a month with the vcAST $20 TOTAL) and you can have up to 10 email accts setup without having to login every time. Don't get me wrong, Bberries are great phones, but you can get that feature with this phone, for $20 vs $30-45 depending on the smartphone. Under the get it now, tools on the go, it should be preloaded, you just have to activate it, and ...
Re: Listen to Sirius on the phone
if they're flash based apps. they won't work. I don't know what phone can handle flash yet though, but i could be wrong
Re: SD Card question on LG Dare
yeah i would copy to a folder on PC first, then format the card in the dare. then connect and download via mass storage. best bet. you should be able to move all your sounds to the card from the i760, but i haven't messed with that one much to know the menus. usually u can go into the my sounds menu and click options, move, mark all, move to card
Re: IMAP / Email Accounts / Outlook
i'll dbl check tomorrow @ work. i know it handles pop3 out of the box.
Re: MS Exchange
yup, download the RemoSync app through Get it now. you can find out more about it at the verizon wireless website
Re: IMAP / Email Accounts / Outlook
You can purchase the Mobile office kit for sync'ing your PC. or you can download the remoSync prog through Get It Now ($6/mo) for corp email access (Imap). Mobile Email ($5/mo) will allow you up to 10 pop3 acct. (you can funnel other accts into one acct to gain access to even more, just access the funnel acct) There is also the wireless Sync through Get It now.
VZnavigator rocks. I used it on ...
Re: LG Dare , How much memory comes with the phone?
actually it will take up to an 8g card.
Re: Texting/Touch Screen
yup you can pull up handwriting for text, qwerty or a t9/word pad
Re: some questions
it should still use the mobile email vcast client like voyager or other handsets do.
Re: any WiFi?
but u dont need it. you have evdo.
Re: Lg Dare
go into your local store bud. they can drop ship it. 2-3 day shipping! and your can play with a demo
Re: Have played with this phone and must say....
just a quick note, you can go into your local store and they can dropship it for you if you want. let them get some credit for it, if it's not out of the way
Re: Have played with this phone and must say....
That's only as long as you are signed up for the My Verizon (formerly My Account) online. its a free acct mgmnt set up thats real handy too. I work for the big check mark. it's called an annual upgrade, and your eligible for it after 10 months from last upgrade with the 4 month on $50+ plan caveat. if you wait for the 20 month mark you get the new every 2 credit also.
I ...
