Hi everyone. I just picked up my treo 700p for verizon this past weekend. Love it!! I had the 650 a year ago with Cingular so I'm pretty familiar with the new unit and have had palm since the pilot 3. My question deals with Messaging. Seems whenever I send out a txt message, a few seconds later the phone plays the messaging alert to let me know the txt went through. Kinda annoying cause I think I'm getting an ...

Has anyone tried using the 6230 as a modem for either a laptop or a pda?? I have the Palm Zire72 which has bluetooth. Anyone know what settings I would need for internet connections?? I've tried joining them and the connection is there but then when I try to go online it tells me to subscribe to GPRS. I do have media works package. Any help would be great! Thanks.

I've tried the same with my Zire72. Updated the phone links and have been able to sync via bluetooth. But when I try to get a connection with GPRS, the zire PPP times out and the 6230 says "please subscribe to GPRS". I do have a media works package. And when it does work will I get EDGE speed while surfing on with the Zire?? I also have a v551. Would I be better off ...

Has anyone used their 6230 as a modem to get internet on their palm?? I've been really thinking of getting the treo 650 but have recently been aware of something called DUN. Media Works Package - Unlimited???
Jul 7, 2005, 10:31 AM

Wondering if anyone has any old materials from back around January on the available pricing plans at the time... I signed on with Cingular back at the end of Jan and I swear I remember the media works package that I signed on with had unlimited web. Had to call customer rep on different matter and thought I'd have her check my plans. She tells me that the package I have only has 3mb of web... ...

I've been looking at this new moto with EVDO and I'm wondering if Verizon limited its Bluetooth like it does with a lot of other phone's features. I'm interested in possibly using the e815's bluetooth to get web on my zire. Is that possible?? Do I need some sort of hack?? And is there a way around paying the $80 for unlimited internet and just used the $15 web package?? Thoughts and comments please...

Also if I do use DUN with my Zire and E815, will I be able to view any website or will it only be "PDA versions" or edited versions?? Whats the limitations?? Been thinking of getting the Treo 650 but if this works I'd rather go with the faster speed.

I already have an account with Cingular so I'm just gonna buy the phone out-right (without and plan) and take it from there. Since I've been told that Cingular won't cover the treo in their insurance plans then I'm looking for better/easier warrenty coverage.

Ruff... thank you for all your input. (in each of my mulitude of posts) ;-) Whats HSDPA?? (hey you brought it up.) I'm assuming its a high speed... DPA... whatever those stand for. Will that be compatible with the treo?? Or am I gonna need to get something else in 6 months. ;-) (seems I tend to do that a lot anyways) Thanks again.

LanceUppercut said: the bluetooth pdas on verizon are FULLY FUNCTIONAL. ITS THE EXACT SAME PHONE. Actually I spoke with a Verizon Rep this morning and he confirmed what RUFF1415 said. Bluetooth is limited in verizon phones to voice tranfers only. No file transfers or stuff like that.... I'm just saying what the Verizon Rep told me. So I guess I'll be sticking with Cingular unless you can prove that the rep was wrong.

If you're interested in aftermarket stuff for the 4400 you could try a site like Daydeal.com. I have the same phone and have considered looking for face plates too. Only thing is you have to take the phone apart to do so. It should work though I haven't tried it.

Hi all. I'm a palm user and have been quite happy with the platform. Unfortunately aside from the new Treo 600 (which seems to be impossible to get these days) there aren't many good phone combos with it. So now I've been looking at the new Sony Ericsson P900 which uses the Symbian OS. What are peoples oppinions of it? How does it work?? I'm also a mac user so any info on ...
