Do's and Don't's of Getting Courtesy Credit from Customer Service
Apr 27, 2008, 2:34 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

Alright, so I have composed of list of things to do, and things to avoid doing when trying to get credit from Customer Care. Feel free to submit any other suggestions you might have. Do's ---------------------------- ------------ DO admit that you may have made a mistake that caused a charge. DO offer to change your plan accordingly to prevent it from happening in the future. DO be kind to the agent you are speaking with. Afterall, they have the final say as to whether or ...

Telecom call centers in Las Vegas?
Apr 27, 2008, 9:28 AM
in the Shop Talk forum

So my friend and I are considering a move to Las Vegas (from Oregon) in a few months, and I was wondering if anybody knew of any customer service call centers in Vegas, preferrably for a cellular provider. I currently work in customer care for Sprint, and have for a year, so a job in another center would be an easy transition. I did a brief search last night online, but didnt seem to be able to find any. ...

You think THAT is an example of stupidity? You should try working in a call center for Sprint customer care... These people redefine retarded on an hourly basis....

Lol those scenarios are classic. No matter how much we might try to help the customers, we apparently still have no idea what we are talking about  For sure she is going to call back when she gets her bill saying something like "I asked my daughter how many she used, and she said she didn't use anywhere near 3000 messages!". And, as we all know, teenage girls NEVER lie, especially when they are about to get ...

Re: Insurance from Sprint

Actually, the insurance covers whatever was part of the loss. So in in instance of water-damage, they would assume the battery was toast, however that is not always the case. And they would actually require the battery back with the phone if you had it. However, if you tell them you lost the phone, you get to keep the battery, which may or may not work. PLUS it's entirely possible for your phone to get lost in the mail ...

Why is it that people feel they are entitled to free stuff because they have been a customer for a long time? I can't seem to get free gas from the gas station I have been frequenting religiously for the last 3 years. I can't get a free TV from Wal-Mart even tho I buy all my groceries and crap there. I can't get a free sweatshirt from Macy's despite how pairs of jeans I buy there. And it ...

Rudest thing I have ever said to a customer...
Apr 12, 2008, 5:42 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

So a customer requested a supervisor and the call came to me in sup queue. The agent's name was Jeremy (my name as well). Me: Hi ma'am, thanks for holding. My name is Jeremy, I am a supervisor here at Sprint. Cust: (angrily) The agent I was just speaking with was named Jeremy! Me: Right, but sometimes two different people have the same name.... maybe it's not as bad as it sounds, but it seemed really rude to me, lol

For shizzle. however I recommend just saying you lost the phone, so you don't have to send the damaged phone back, and you can keep the battery in case it still works. **NOTE: Recommendation provided qualifies as insurance fraud**

Lol that's great. Customers just expect the world. What's even better is when they get mad because we won't sell them a phone for the price they want, yet they expect it because "they have been a good customer so long". WATAF? Is there anything else you really get a discount on because you have been a good customer for so long? I frequent the same gas station and spend $100+ every month there. I'm gonna go piss and ...

Why do customers even make that ridiculous request? Sorry, my CEO is too busy sleeping with supermodels and swimming in money to care that you were without cell service for a week. Is there anything I can help you with? I get paid basically nothing, which is, coincidentally, about how much as I care about what you have to say.....

Here is my favorite scenario actually! Cust: Blah blah blah my bill is messed up you guys charged me X, Y and Z charges! (feel free to input whatever random charge customers complain about for the variables) Me: I'm sorry, but the charges are correct, there's no error there. Cust: Yes there is! Me: Sorry, no error. No adjustments are going to be issued. Cust: Well I'm not paying this bill. Me: Sounds good. Anything else I can help you with?

Other than what has already been offered to you, I wouldn't count on any alternatives. Obviously, Sprint doesn't manufacture the phones, so we are not liable for any of their defects/issues. It's rare that somebody goes through that many phones in that timeframe, but it can happen. If it comes to the point where you might consider cancelling your service as a result of this issue, please contact our acct services department for a possible retention offer. Free mobile business/financial management software?
Mar 30, 2008, 3:10 PM

So I am going to be starting my own small business (probably start selling product via ebay store before I start my own website), just as a way to supplement my income. I'm generally a very disorganized person and was wondering if anybody knew of any free mobile software/apps that I might be able to use to organize my finances/stock. I have a Sprint HTC MoguL(PPC6800 w/windows mobile 6.0) Thanks Jeremy
