disclosing call details

so every time a customer loses their phone and requests the last call phone number, i say i can't disclose that over the phone. they always ask why bec "it's my phone!" i only have 1 answer for them: it's a law, and we legally cannot disclose them. what else can i say? anyone know the actual reason?

i think this might have something to do with it bec i just had a call like that where the customer ported in mtn and it showed the prev owner's name so i'll have to keep an eye out for those coincidences to see if that's it. thanks!

every once in a while i get a call about people showing their caller id displaying a certain name on it. for example, they call a landline with their mob phone and it shows their personal name and they want to change that bec they don't want the other receiver knowing their name but i call tech and they always tell me we can't do anything. so question is: do we have anything to do with what displays in ...

ha yea, what i never understood was when people know they don't have insurance, not eligible for an upgrade and lose their phone and still think they shouldn't have to pay for 1 year pricing, but at least 2 year pricing! i mean, if i ever broke or lost my phone, i'd know that's my fault and i have to pay for it.

" i'm not using data, why am i getting charged mb. the only thing i could think of is backup assist. but it shouldn't be charging me bec i have my vz." ok so info manager does state there are no mb charges when syncing from phone or website. however, i can only assume that applies to auto syncs. so question is, does backup assistant EVER use mbs? also, other than gin ...

sorry, i did read that wrong. file a complaint as opposed to complain. yea, we would pretty much call tech support and they could check out the area/tticket. no biggie.

so i transf some empl to the empl line. was just wondering. is everything the same like billing/equipment policies? like, what happens if empl go over the minutes? can they call into the empl line and be like "i went over my minutes and there's no way i used that many. i want credit." then the rep says "well sir, you work for us, you should know how this works so the answer is NO. i hate it when people say "go complain to customer service." NO WONDER WE GET SO MANY ANGRY CUSTOMERS. dang man. anyway, go to: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/realestate /index.jsp if you want to add a tower to your area. you have to qualify for it and they will never call you if they're not going to add anything, only if you do. so don't expect a call back letting you know if they were able to do it or not bec you'll be waiting ...

i just told my two friends that it was delayed who were deciding on the iphone or the storm and they said they couldn't wait any longer for the storm and so they got the iphone with att, then i open this thread and it says "gotcha!" what the heck is that!!???? now i'm out 2 referral credits. you happy???????????????????????? :lol:

so every once in a while i get those customers that call in saying "why do you give an option of spanish in your menu? this is america!" and maybe even escalate or refuse to get off the phone after you've told them there's nothing you can do. some people just don't have a life and call just for that. i usually tell them that many customers speak spanish so we need to offer our customers options or else ...

haha. kind of funny as i had a call about this exact issue yesterday. weird. i guess there is an issue with this phone. you can have it replaced twice within 90 days and if still getting problems, we can replace it with a comparable model. yep.

correct. you need to have data unblocked though, but you don't incur kb charges when rec/sending pix msgs from smartphone.

ha you're right, i hadn't seen the update on 4/23. from onesource: There are no text messaging, MB (Megabyte), or airtime charges for backups/syncs initiated from the device or the web account. Airtime charges apply for the initial download of the app, depending on calling plan.(if registered online with my verizon). so what onesource is saying is, if reg with my vz, also won't incur the mb charge either! dang, hadn't looked this up in a while! ha.

i was about to say, why hasn't anyone mentioned backup assistant. backup assistant is the one that is charging you mb. it updates every once in a while depending on your update preferences. (go to verizonwireless.com/backupassistant to change these preferences). yea, it might be free monthly, but charges you mb if you don't have vcast.

i recently changed from customer service to e-services and support for vzw.com. i get this question from paranoid customers "i don't see the lock icon on the bottom right on the first page of your website and i don't feel safe signing in." well i do also see the same thing and it doesn't show up until after you sign in OR if you click on my verizon/my personal account/sign in, the lock will show there. apparently, no one ...

so you guys have seen the super troopers "meow" scene where they just do crap like that to make their job interesting. so just to share our thing: if you press ctrl+alt down arrow (up arrow to go back to normal screen) your screen will flip upside down. well try taking a call like that. pretty impossible unless your eyesight is seriously screwed up. what do YOU do.

hahaha. that's great. i once told a customer "are you SERIOUS" bec i thought they were joking about how mad they were. they sounded sarcastic instead of serious. then they got really pissed and i just laughed at them. (i rarely ever laugh unless they're really crazy!)

damn you guys started going at it about the coverage. coverage goes like this: if they travel, then focus your sale on our service. i'm talking about someone that just lives in an area that sprint/att/tmob works fine and they don't travel. show me some stuff i can say to THOSE customers.

haha that's great. i can never push myself to directly call someone a liar. it's so embarassing!! like if i know someone stole a phone and is trying to activate it, i say "your friend that gave you his phone still has it on his account and just tell him to call us and remove it and we'll do the esn change for you with no problem" hahaha!!

what if you simply have him turn on the speakerphone on all the time in low volume and that should be louder than the highest notch in regular mode. that's what my gf did when she dropped her phone in water and could barely hear anyone. it works! haha.
