I have had a Lg Dare for about two years now. And I have been out of contract for one year.
I don't travel more than 90 miles from my home area, so coverage is not an issue. And the top four carriers work great here.

Thanks alboutvz. I am having second thoughts about renewing my contract with Verizon. The ONLY reason why I even have Verizon is because it is the only carrier that works in the building where I work. That is also because we have a tower on our roof to bring in a stronger signal. Every person who doesn't use Verizon has to go outside to use their non-Verizon phones.

I have a LG Dare, and I have been out of contract over a year now. I pay only 15 dollars a month extra for unlimited web. So does that mean they would charge me more?
I hate Dare's virtual keyboard, what would you recommend that has a real keyboard where I could still check my yahoo email on?

This doubling the ETF is so stupid! My 1 year contract with Verizon was up in July. So now I am going month to month. I am not going to sign another contract with Verizon until that sweeten the deals. Doubling the ETF is not a sweet deal.
I can see people leaving now for some of the other carriers where they go month to month, 50 dollars and get unlimited everything.

I live in North Central Fl. And whenever I go kayaking I take my GoPhone, because if it falls overboard it's cheaper to replace than Verizon Dare phone. Along the rivers here I don't see many towers, but I am still able to use my GoPhone.
Whenever I travel anywhere (when not kayaking) I bring both Verizon and GoPhones, this way I know I will get a signal one way or another.

My main phone is a Verizon Dare, but I also use the Razor with the Gophone service. I have been to some pretty remote places, and I have always been able to use my Gophone.
Has for the Gophone service being "abysmal" you are off target on that remark.

Verizon is getting the Iphone in "early 2010" ? So you are telling me that Verizon is getting the Iphone that has been out almost 4 years?
I played with the Tour, the Pre and the Iphone . An by far, the Iphone was the easiest to use.
As I said before my friends also use the other 4 carriers, and yes they do travel. And they have no complaints with coverage.

There is a very good reason why I have several phones. I do a lot of kayaking and boating in remote areas of Fl. I use the Boost phone and the Gophones for those purposes. So if for some reason they get wet, banged up or lost overboard I can get a new one at the nearest store. Plus people that I just met for the first time or a local bussiness I give them the prepaid number so ...

I wasn't trying to start a "flame war", because if I were, I would done a much better job. I didn't come here to pis* anyone off, but even some of the tec magazines I have read aren't to excited with Verizon's offerings.

I have had Samsung phones in the past and I never liked them. So according to your reply that would leave me just the Env3. It would of been nicer than just having 2 phones to pick from.
By the way, the ONLY reason I use Verizon is because where I work, Verizon won the bid to put a small tower on our propert at work.

This phone works great except for the touch screen. Whenever I text or anyother time I have to touch the screen I have to it several times before it will take. And please don't tell me I have to calibrate it.
I only sign one year contracts with Verizon, yes it cost more, but if for reason the quality goes away with their service, I am not stuck in a 2 year contract.

I want to thank everyone for their input. I am beginning to prefer a "real keyboard" I hate having to redo a letter(s) whenever I text someone because I was slightly off on the contact with my finger.

I have had the Dare since July, I like the multi-media of the phone. But when it comes to phone clarity, my old E815 and the original L-Env were much clearer than the Dare.
Does anyone have the HTC Pro? I am thinking of skipping the Storm all together ...

Dump Boost before they steal your money!
Boost really screwed up my balance of minutes. They said I had a subscription to downloading ring tones and they were taking $5.00 out of my account every month! I only used the piece of sh** phone to call work if I was going to be late!
To make a long short. Boost failed to see that their records were wrong, and would not credit me money that was due to me.

I check my yahoo email from my phone while I am at work. In "layman's terms" how would I know how many megabytes would I be using by checking my email? By the way I don't download music, or anything else. All I do on mobile web is check my yahoo email accounts and the weather reports (animated radar displays).
