I don't know why you're acting like this is the only feature phone with a keyboard. The LG Cosmos and Pantech Jest are also available.

No clear winner?
Last I checked, Verizon Wireless kicked AT&T's ass with their commercials while AT&T was viewed as pathetic by most with their attempts to cut down VZW the douche that is Luke Wilson.

Re: Sour Grapes
You realize that WiMAX and LTE, both in their current implementation, are 3.9G standard? The next iteration of WiMAX (802.16m) and LTE (LTE-Advanced) are the actual 4G standards.

Re: Apple Fanboys
Especially since it's cheaper to buy it on contract and break out of contract vs. buying it at full price.

Re: uhmmm... Sprint already has this Rate...
Actually, Sprint doesn't have charges for using text messages overseas if your texting a domestic number (i.e. US number). I have friends who used text messaging in Europe on multiple occasions without any charges. Now if you text an international number, then you'll get charged.
I don't understand why T-Mobile and AT&T have worse international options vs. Sprint and Verizon, specially since the former two use the international standard for mobile communications (GSM).
Re: New ETF Idea
ETFs are designed to recover the initial loss of the device. There should NEVER be an instance where the ETF surpasses the worth of the device, especially by almost 3x.

Re: More then 10 years
Please, don't call it 2G CDMA. CDMA2000, by definition of a generation (i.e. Not the bastardized modification used by the telecom industry today), is 3G. Just say CDMA.

Re: Last to respond, as usual.
Apparently you're getting way too emotional over this. If we sound ridiculous for critiquing on their response, the same can be said about you defending them relentlessly. I don't believe any corporation will offer these services just because it's right the right thing to do. There is always an agenda for them to be charitable, and that's to make themselves look better. I'm finished here because apparently you are taking this way too personal. Maybe you have relatives in ...
Re: Last to respond, as usual.
Actually, they HAVE to waive the fees if they don't want to worsen their brand image. Sprint is always late when it comes to responding to other carriers. T-Mobile announced this first, then a couple days later Verizon, followed by Sprint almost a month later. Same thing happened when Verizon released their unlimited voice plans. AT&T and T-Mobile responded within a week, while Sprint took a month.
Re: Last to respond, as usual.
If they were going to do something like this, might as well do it when you can get recognize for it and improve your brand image. If they were truly doing this out of decency, they would have did it immediately after the incident like the others. This is most likely them responding to scrutiny from their customers, and them trying to save image.

Last to respond, as usual.
I never understood why Sprint is always the last to respond to something like this. T-Mobile and Verizon announced this a couple weeks ago. Sprint announces it just now, after Verizon and T-Mobile had already stole the thunder, instead of being part of it from the beginning.
Re: Selling their customers confidence
I'm trying to say that a few VZW fanboys won't make an impact on the actual results. 10 out of 1000 is an insignificant factor. Also, I'm sure AT&T can tell phony reports from real ones (e.g. a report saying that AT&T's service sucks in one area when many others are reporting only a couple of issues in that area).

Re: Selling their customers confidence
You honestly believe an influx of VZW fanboys are going to start paying $90/m so they can attempt (and most likely fail) at skewing results...

Also, the link you posted even states "3G."
Re: Verizon has a bigger chance at winning a lawsuit..
Sprint isn't faster because of WiMAX. WiMAX HAS NEVER been used in official comparisons between Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint. It has only been their 3G networks that have been tested, and PC World, Gizmodo, and BGR all agree that Sprint has the fastest 3G network, excluding their 4G/WiMAX network.

Re: Data roaming is criminal
Or we could head over to Sprint/Verizon who offer Unlimited International Data roaming for $40-$70/m. T-Mobile and AT&T are horrible for international data.

Re: Not too shabby!
I don't know, you tell me. Never once mentioned anything about a smartphone, so you can probably do some Google research on that.
Re: Not too shabby!
You already stated it buddy, laptop modems. Don't start trying to get specific to help prove your argument. As of now, there are HSPA+ devices available.
Re: Not too shabby!
I don't care if it's smaller as long as it's available where I need it (and it is). You also realize that HSPA+ devices have already start releasing in Europe? Do you honestly believe that T-Mobile won't have HSPA+ devices until 2011? That they're going to build up HSPA+ just to have no device support it for 6-12 months?
Not too shabby!
Not bad, T-Mobile. Depending on the performance, I might go back to T-Mobile. They have the best voice quality in my area with top-notch coverage, but their speeds (yes, 3G) were pathetic compared to Sprint. If T-Mobile gets HSPA+ up and running before Sprint or VZW gets 4G in my area (which seems very likely), I might go back.
Also, AT&T...that damn network is a joke. HSPA 7.2. by 2011...when T-Mobile will have HSPA+ by 2010, VZW is beginning to ...
Re: cool beans
Palm OS is long gone. They're focusing on their new WebOS.
Re: This could be interesting
LTE is designed to operate across nearly all frequencies. Verizon is implementing it on their 700MHz spectrum initially, but in 5-10 years when they begin to phase out CDMA, they will most likely migrate LTE (or whatever 4/4.5/5G standard is widely available at the time) onto their other holdings.
Re: This could be interesting
That's frequencies on which LTE operates. LTE is a standard, but can operate on a variety of frequencies. In the US, all carriers utilize either 850MHz and/or 1900MHz, which LTE will operate on. Of course, carriers hold additional spectrums (e.g. VZW with 700MHz, Sprint/Clear with 2.5GHz, T-Mobile with 1700/2100MHz).
Re: This could be interesting
LTE is a standard.

As to the technical details who owns the license weather it is sprint or clear wire, i am not sure. I thought sprint retained all ownership of the 2.5 licensing, but i could be wrong.
The truth of the matter is whether sprint owns the license or clear wire does it is pointless since sprint owns 51% of clear wire.If sprint chose to it could have clear wire sell the spectrum back to sprint.
Nevertheless, it's spectrum that will ...
Re: Alltel would have been a better target.
Didn't Sprint give up the 2.5GHz spectrum to Clear for 51% ownership and the spectrum is currently being used for WiMAX.
Re: wow
Seriously, you would get this for your child? I would rather get my child a Rumor2, Reclaim, or Exclaim before I got this. This phone is more so for people who use their phone only as a phone (with possible text messaging every now and then).

Re: Sprint has no Network!
Probably their unused 1900MHz holdings since Sprint owns tons of it, and the spectrum they'll gain from the rebanding.
Re: Sprint has no Network!
Invested heavily? All they did was donate spectrum in exchange for majority holding and off-loaded the build-out of a network onto a another company. They're not going to walk away from Clearwire (since they own 51%); however, Clearwire's WiMAX rollout will not completely effect Sprint's 4G solution and if Clearwire decides to remain WiMAX, that will not prevent Sprint from going LTE and visa versa.
Re: IMHO the US wireless industry..
Fold, please. Sprint can setup to migrate to LTE and let Clearwire continue to pursue WiMAX or convert to LTE, whichever would be more beneficial. Through Clear, all WiMAX is a giant WiFi network. Nothing more, and for that purpose, it works extremely well. Sprint will most likely upgrade their network to LTE; however, they can still have Clearwire utilize WiMAX for their primary purpose, mobile data across a large area (e.g. cities, college campus, etc.).
Re: IMHO the US wireless industry..
All this stuff about Sprint having to convert WiMAX over and such, I hope you guys realize that Sprint doesn't do anything with WiMAX. They handed off the spectrum for WiMAX and the responsibilities of WiMAX development/maintenance over to Clearwire in exchange for majority holdings. Sprint does have a decisive role on how Clearwire handles it, but ultimately, it's all under Clearwire and separate from Sprint. Sprint still has yet to announce a 4G plan for their CDMA/iDEN networks, ...

'Bout time
With Schmidt resigning, this will allow Google to focus hard on it's emerging OSes (Android and Chrome), that way they aren't limited to please Apple (e.g. lack of multi-touch in current versions of Android) and releasing key services on iPhone before Android (update Maps, Google Search w/ Voice, etc.). I was also wondering why Google said they weren't going to initially include Multi-Touch in 2.0 (leaving it to the manufacturer to support it) to multi-touch being in the current ...
Re: Unemployment
Homeboy...really living up to your name. Amazon has been selling wireless phones for some time now with contracts (and if you read the terms/conditions, some serious requirements are attached to them as well), and all they're doing now is centralizing it. This will hurt sales in retailers, but not by much more than it use to. Best Buy and RadioShack usually provide similar pricing (BB Tour right now is $100, same as Amazon, from Best Buy) with the convenience ...
