Cry me a river...Please, there are plenty of other Reps out there who work 40hrs in the industry and go to college full time, and actually finish their degree. I can promise you wont make more money doing anything else while in college. So, if you can't hack it, live off your student loans and study your A$$ off...geez

From the response it appears that you are using a starter phone that may have limited capabilites. You are correct on one thing, all BB are focused on Push Email, that your wife uses. This is great for my clients who need instant access to real time emails. If your emails are not time sensative, I would recommend the Palm Centro. Like the previous posts, Palm has been around for years, and there are several programs from financial calculators ...

Re: Sprint No Contracts Soon?!!!
Jun 11, 2008, 4:25 PM
in the Rumor Mill forum

If this were to be true which I highly doubt, people would have to pay full price for the handset. Custys can barely pay a decent price with a mail in rebate, so again this would never happen. Sprint is not like the cable co or the electric co where they have a monoply on the city. Custys are leaving Sprint and your talking about no contracts, come on really, think about it!!!

Re: corporate store or auth dealer?
Jun 2, 2008, 6:17 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

I have worked for both Corp and now I work at an Auth Dealer in a mall. I agree on the fact that working at an Auth Dealer has better quotas to meet, which allows me to hit accelerators. In turns puts more money in my pocket. Plus I get more freedom to work deals and not have to go ask my manager for every little thing. If your questioning which to work for, look at the locations and see ...

Re: For people that work at kiosk

I also used to work for a corporate store, and now I'm at a kiosk. I did not think I would like it at first, but here are some pros about it. When you are working at a corporate store typically there are 10 plus reps all fighting for the same sale. Where as in a kiosk usually its only myself, I get all the sales for that day. Some people who buy at a kiosk its an impulse ...

Working at Sprint, the commission structure will never get better only worse, unfortunately. Anybody who has worked there for more then 3yrs can tell you. When Sprint & Nextel merged the stock price was around $26, now it's maybe worth $10. You can either go down with the ship or find a carrier where u can make a buck. Cheers

Supposed to be in the main thread Several sales reps out there complain way too much, what happened to being sales people. (Ahh it's too hard to make money) A true sales person man or women will accept the challenge and do what ever it takes to close the sale. I do it everyday, and ever since I've been in sales, and the wireless industry. Accept that in order to get a Media discount they have to get a Media ...

Very simple on a budget, get a cake store bought makes it easy on you, tell the person to put "Thank You for you hard work" on the cake. Maybe a gift card to the movies or her favorite resturante. Maybe a Bluetooth headset would be nice. Hope this helps, Cheers

Re: Price Matching
Feb 8, 2008, 2:25 PM

Since Walmart is a large corporation and are able to buy in large quanties they force their dealers to sell at the price Walmart sets. This is one reason why most small businesses do not like Walmart, but for personal stuff cant really beat the prices. Everyone competes with Walmart, wireless and for everyday goods. My advice if you can't match prices due to the owner, then work on the next custy and make sure that you close the sale. ...

Re: question about data plans with BB (all carriers)
Feb 8, 2008, 11:51 AM
in the Shop Talk forum

For at&t, in order to get a mail in rebate you have to have a BB plan $30 or an unlt mesg plan with a voice plan $39.99 or higher. What I do personally, I ask qualifing questions and if it seems like they wont use the BB plan then I tell the custys its prob not a phone for them. Its all about features, and if your not gonna use the BB plan then get a regular tele. Cheers

Also you need to remember where you are at, in your area are most areas serviceable for TV, Internet, ect..In my area its a hit and miss. Maybe Internet will be avail and not for TV..Custys want both or nothing. If not I would stay in the wireless arena if you know it well. Also in order for you to succeed in the non wireless area, you have to build your client base. Kinda like your own business, to ...

I used to work for coporate Sprint, and you would have your regular custys come in to hang out walk around the store check out new phones and Bluetooth headsets. Sprint has XM radio now, but before the merger when our manager were not working we would put on some great music and crank it up. Since the merger all the coporate store were remodeled, people like that. Ahhh the good old days of Sprint.

What he is saying is not that he doesnt want to sell the phone but prop not gonna make any money on any features or accessories. Who has left the wireless industry and came back?

The reason I ask, there are several people who dislike being in the wireless industry. I would suggest going to another sales based job and see how much work is involved and you would wish you were back. Who out there have had horrible experiences with other non wireless sales jobs and came back?

Not really a wireless annoyance, but since working at the mall, people always ask me where another store is, or even worse another cell phone carrier..What I do if they ask for another carrier I tell them the wrong information...hahaha. When I see them leaving its soooo hilarious....

I have Sprint and used to work for Sprint, I think the reason there are people who dont like Sprint because they dont understand Sprint. People need to understand that if they live in a small town their coverage and or speeds for Internet use will be slower then average. If you live in the large part of the 30 markets of the country you should not have a problem. Also people who have Sprint should be greatful that ...

All Sprint Aircards default their cards to a certain speed. You can go under My Network Places, find the Sprint Aircard, right click on the icon, click on Properties, click on configure. There is a drop down box, then choose the highest speed available. P.S. Used to work for Sprint did this all the time.
