If it were selling @ $250 or so, I would not mind getting it, but the price is too much and you don't get fast, I mean fast internet browsing. It is pretty much same speed or slower than new openwave 7.2 that used on the Hint or other new AWS phones from metro. Metropcs cancelled that Evoke due to touchscreen frozen, and glued items fell off. That what I heard. If Cricket launces it, I don't think it can top the Hint cause from the Evoke spec, it does not do MMS, no bueno for that calibre of phone.

The Hint is doing well, so that the Q could be possiblity, basically the same phone except one is a bar another is a slider. The MMS on the Hint is really improved most since Metro is in business, text fast, sent fast, and internet is a snap.

From what I have heard the touchscreen doesn't work properly, it stucked or frozen on the prototype, some glued items came loose.

2 years with metro is nothing but sastisfaction, eventhough their phones selection is a joke. The bill is very precise you know what you have to pay and the breeze of paying online is a big help. Coverage in both Tampa/clearwater & Orlando are very good. This is one of reasons why I am stil with metro cause it is 3 times cheaper than At&t or big V each month. My web checking on CNBC ...

It is not merger, it is only roaming agreements for 10 years, details not available yet. Good thing, means you can get cheaper rate when roaming into cricket market, and vice versa for cricket folks into metropcs area. not merger..nope.

Samsung 520 is way better than the E2000, Kyocera unit has a very bad reception, I am in FL, I returned the E2000 within 1 hour cause I can't pick up signal in my office. I went Rokr z6m which till today I am pleased with it. Excellent signal. Why don't you wait till they have better phones? the 520 is almost getting replaced by Nokia 3606 or similar from Moto and newer version of Samsung ...

Been with them since Dec '06, so far I like it eventhough they have many issues regarding phones and speed. If your priority is low bill, then this is it. You have to be patient with their phones selection, only 2-3 phones that are worthy of having which can do every feature that company offers.
I don't see any sign that I am switching...price, internet, mms, unlimited time 24/7 keep me going... :wink:

If that is true, how the Q will work on a slow 1x network that metro uses, besides metro does not have streaming video, certain music file type not supported...and mms sending only 320kb -sized file which means you can't send anything larger than that on mms texting. I guess getting the Q just for the hype or look but not fully usable for what the Q supposed to be and you wanted to pay $400+ for that look? ...

Rokr Z6m is the best phone available on Metro current lineup. I love the phone even though it uses 1x network not EVDO, but it is worth every penny. (for $45 plan, yes) You will love the slider. I think it is wishful thinking for anyone wanting a Q9M, or Pearl 8130 as long as Metro running on 1X, no way jose for smartphone! The Razr2v9m has to come first before any smartphone...ain't happen.

I heard that by this summer there will be a smartphone of some sort available. The only qwerty key pad phone is samsung R410, it is a decent phone but nothing spectacular in my opinion. It doesn't have mp3 player, and you can't set favorite ringtone, no bells and whisles, no mapquest besides screen is kind a small for a Samsung. The $45 plan is the best, don't get $50 plan, the push email is not worh paying for cause you can't read whole email, they are all truncated! Just log ...

Got Rokr Z6m for two weeks now...
So far it is my best phone, love everything that Moto privides on this Z6m. I have it since Jan 3, 08 with Metropcs, and have no any problems at all. The camera shoot very nice picture with large resolution, so as video. Pretty soon, I gonna get micro sd card to store all multimedia cause I 've been downloading so many mp3 and videos. Just to share info about this Z6m.

open up that particular song you want as ringtone in the audio icon (from multimedia icon), highlight that song and press option, you should see sub menu say apply as ringtone in it. You don't run through music player, but go to the audio icon. hope this help. You can set any song to be your ringtone, inbox, voicemail tone, the phone is awesome and easy to use.

I seconded what James said above. I just bought the Rokr Z6m after new year, after returning Kyocera E2000 for just six hours. The E2000 has BIG problem with signal strenght, it won't work in office building, it works only you are outside! I returned it.
As for the Z6m, here my take:
1. stunning screen, 3d like color when viewing pic from the web
2. it is fast, going through menu, navigating through application.

The Rokr has new version of gmail, instant messaging, its mp3 player is superb with visualization, lots of goodies in it. You might want to look at Samsung R 410, it is Metropcs best selling phone for now while the E2000 has not even seen light from box! The only thing is R410 can't play mp3 and that is my most fav, I do download tons of ringtones , songs in mp3, so you have to go ...

I have not heard nokia 6265 that many, but for me the video, mp3 sound from Rokr speakers are very stero-like, smooth and wide, not mono and loud like typical cell phone. Is that what you are looking for?

James, I am in with the Rokr Z6m too. I agree. it blows slvr away, faster, nicer, bigger screen full of features. The picture and video quality is awesome. The browser is amazing, I love mine today. The mms is super neat and fast! The sound is the best. The signal is its best feature!!! (text mms from bathroom, not many phone can do in my office).

update, update, I need to tell you that the E2000 will not support files, address book, mp3, rintones, songs, videos transfer from other brand handsets! It happens to me at Metropcs corporate store which said they don't have connector or tools or any buetooh way to transfer all the above said to the E 2000, if you like E2000 you have to let go all of your contacts and multmedia from old handsets and start anew ones ...

As far as I have learnt from word of mouth and a small group of people who have just bought and used it, it is probably the winner. It is by far lot better than moto z6m due to its new software and system, and has "everything" that can be used on the network. I heard some good things about its video and "flash" for camera. What is the difference? As we talk my local corporate Metropcs is charging the so-so Rokr z6m for $315! If Cricket can do I think Metropcs should be able too. Look around what is the best phone in Metropcs lineup? NONE.
They have like half- ss phones to sell like r410 that can't play mp3, mediocre Slvr with vga cam, last legged Razr v3a, water-testing E2000 that not many people know of, not even Phone ...
