Thanks. Ready to move to AT&T myself and just need the push. It's hard when you have four or more lines on a plan. We all work 8+ hours a day and then spend most of non work time on WiFi and it's complete crap when they tell me I'm suddenly using triple the data. I've been with Verizon since 1994 but it's time to go. I simply feel taken advantage of now and they're simply not the best ...

But unfortunately not on phones PURCHASED during the time period in which the data plans were required? Or has that changed? i.e. I have an Alias2, brand new, that I'd like to replace my husband's ailing LG flip with. However, whenever I try to activate it, I am "required" to add at least $10 data to it. My husband barely turns a phone on and says "hello" so I'd actually prefer just putting a data block on, but Verizon ...

Epik has been telling people about the evils of the "contract system" since the beginning of time. We all know who's fault it is that customers have that sense of entitlement. I personally am just sick of the whole industry as well (so I'd hate to work in it). I used to come here and look at phone after phone to see what each one featured. I'd read countless reviews and post after post of people wanting to know ...

Hey epik, not to change the subject, but I'll change the subject...I haven't been on in awhile, how has the sale of iPhones been going for Verizon? Did anyone ever hear from Scott Herman again....? My daughter just got one (coming from the original Moto Droid) and she absolutely LOVES the battery life. She routinely gets 4 days on one charge (I couldn't go 5 hours with my droid). That and the camera seem to be the ultimate selling ...

I'm one of that steady stream...had an android phone and although I liked it, willingly went back to blackberry and a usable keyboard. If all phones go to touchscreen, I am going to be one unhappy customer.

You are absolutely correct. All these people screaming about how wonderful it is will find out soon enough that it will only be wonderful for the rich and powerful, not the consumer. Hopefully Sprint has some success in their fight.

Good post. I wish other people would not post their experiences from years ago, but would stick to how Sprint is doing NOW. I would like to see the company do well and regain a competitive edge. It only helps the industry exponentially. I don't get the alliance to a particular carrier. No carrier really cares about its customers except to the extent they line their pockets with profit.

Wouldn't this just be pointless though? If someone REALLY wanted the phone badly enough, they would be willing to switch their phone # with another family member, I'm sure. Why it makes a difference who's number is on what line I don't understand as long as you sign on the dotted line for another two years, unless I'm missing something (which is entirely possible).

One of the actual Verizon reps could better answer the question as to whether or not they are the same phones as those that are given as insurance replacements, but if they are, I have had several of those and they are fine (often times performed better than the original).

People with berries or dumbphones are most likely to want and will prefer the iphone. You're right in that respect. But I think people with android (who know how to use it) who give that platform up for Apple may find themselves very disappointed. Just my 2 cents.

Took my son to VZW corp store to price the Droid X at full retail. He wants for Christmas and was giving me half of the price. No upgrades at this time. Rep says "running a promotion. Put another line on your account, get him the X, put an old phone on his existing line and we will waive the $10 fee for the life of the 2 yr contract." Does this sound legit?? I've been scratching my head...
