VZW is behind it all. Get a clue. They are doing thier absolute best to keep Nextel out of that MHZ range. I'm positive they are resorting to political bribes as well. VZW is in danger of losing market share big time. Nextel provides a better service, and its VZW that is running scared, doing everthing it can to protect itself from a better provider.

Get rid of the i30 and upgrade. The i30 has numerous problems, from failing to charge after its out of warranty or the push to talk button getting stuck. Upgrade, some of the new phones are pretty cheap to get, or you can find an old i90 or i95 for sale on ebay.

What don't you like about the Nextel phones. Are they styling, not exactly. Do they do what they were designed to do ABSOLUTELY! Yes they are launching 2 camera phones in mid to late summer the first one will come out, followed in November with the Smartphone operating on MS software. they are called the i860, and the i930. You can check out howardforums, or ideninsiders for pics.

Camera phone for Nextel? which one, there will be two. The i860, and the i930. Go out and look them up at Howardforums, or ideninsiders.com

Nextel does offer wireless connections for laptops, the phones can be connected to pdas and used as modems. I admit the data service still needs improvement, but they are getting there. As far as I am concerned, if you really wanted a phone to work when your nextel didn't, you would go with Verizon. Nextel will get there though, and when they do, look out world.

one place to see the new phones is at ideninsiders.com please you the search for falcon series phones. The people that post at iden don't like to be bothered with newbies. They do however have a posting with the entire line on falcon phones thru the up to the i930 smartphone rumored to be out in November of 04. The i860, and i930 will both have a camera, and a external screen that can display the ...

I don't know, maybe if it would do my taxes for me. LOL I think there is such a thing as taking multitasking on a single device to far.

Re: Verizon Push to talk

My biggest problem with Sprint, is the actual PCS coverage area. Its the same size as Nextels or darn close. If you aren't on Nextel's network, the device (phone or walkie talkie) doesn't work. With Sprint you can be on a CDMA network and not know it if you're outside of your normal area. I think the multi band phones should let you know what network its recieving. IE, GSM, CDMA, or something besides just ...

Well I have been a Verizon Customer, and now I'm a nextel customer. I'm sorry you wanted more facts with the statement, but its been posted many times before about the delays that Verizon has. I know you are here often enough, to have seen them. Verizon has a bigger coverage area, but I like the service I recieve with Nextel better than what I had with Verizon. This is an opinion so I have no facts ...

It meets my needs, and that's all that matters. I have better reception than my father's verizon, and he's complained to them from day one about it.

T mobile and AT&T worked out roaming agreements last year though. They can each use the others network with out costing thier customers roaming fees. This was reported here at this website on the front as news.

Well that would makes sense, considering that PCS, and Nextel's iDen aren't used in other parts of the world. Asia uses CDMA, and Europe uses nothing but GSM.

baybegyrl, have you noticed that most of the tv shows, have thier actors using Motorola Nextel phones. Now that's product placement. If you get what you pay for, then Nextel is the way to go. All of you that complain about the plan prices!

Re: The Top Carrier!!
Jan 6, 2004, 7:17 PM

Not talking about calling them, I'm talking about going into a store owned by the company and being treated like I matter. When they cellular company I had been using for years switched to Verizon, I wasn't allowed to deal with my normal sales person. They wanted me to deal with whoever was available, who didn't know my needs from squat, let alone thier own product.

I have the Nextel free incoming. Love the plan! I wouldn't go back to Verizon if they paid me, never has a company treated me like I didn't matter as much as they did. Guess they don't want my money. Nextel treats me great whenever I call, which isn't much, because thier service meets my needs.

Ug, the early i1000 comes to mind. Other manufactures just need to step up and pay for the technology that motorola is using. they do it for GSM and CDMA.

They are seperate companies, but if you are in a partners area, you're not roaming! That is an important point I wanted to make, because Nextel is partnered with another company in the southwest as well, and there is a prepaid company for California and Nevada. If you go to ideninsiders.com and search for the i930, you should find pictures and information. Its one of the new phones do out in Q4 of 04. When you're ...

Where are you located? What does the coverage map look like for that area? How often will you travel outside the coverage area? Do you know anyone in your area with a nextel to ask how like thier service? I've had Nextel in the St. Louis area and loved it. Now I have it in Michigan. Coverage isn't to bad. I can live with the dead spots. Something else to know, is are you covered by ...

VZW has all that and no real customer service. I don't care what you offer, if you treat me like crap, then you don't need my money.

Re: The Top Carrier!!

Nextel at least tells people that when you're off thier network, it won't work. Nextel has its high credit standards for a reason. THEY don't want to have to send an account into collections.

I personnally never had decent customer service when I phone company was bought by verizon, but you're coverage area is right. I'll stick with my Nextel. I know it doesn't yet have the best coverage, but I think it has the features at the moment, for WHAT I USE. Something people forget is not one company meets all needs.

The facts, gsm has more providers in the nation, but until AT&T merges with either t mobile or cingular, Verizon is the largest network, with the most subscribers.

All I know is my buddy's ex wife was harrassing him on his cell vzw phone, and when they went to court, he couldn't prove it, because they stated they couldn't track incoming numbers, which doesn't make sense to me.

I worked for a security company, and only got time and half. No union, pissed off the wrong person and was out of work for almost a year, just cause I wouldn't kiss someone's a**. I do know people that make double time on holidays, and possibly triple time on sundays.

You know what I find amazing...... Cellular companies don't post the numbers of incoming calls. they have to know who it is because of caller id. I've met several people who were being harrassed on there cell phone, and the companies said there was nothing they could do outside of changing the cellular users number. Thats not right. I think they should be able to produce who's number was calling, so that you can go to court ...

Ah, maybe partners keeps thier indirects better informed then. I was indirect for Nextel, and they wouldn't share that information. Have you had complaints about billing with customers? A friend of mine was a partners customer in the Central Illinios area, and he said he was getting billed for stuff he didn't use, double bills on several occasions. Anything like that where you are?

Are you using Nextel, or Nextel partners? I've heard similar stories from partners customers. They use the Nextel system, but they are on there own billing system seperate from Nextel.

I totally agree. Wish more sales people would do that. It would save the headache of dealing with those who feel that Nextel sucks, just because they thought they would have service and didn't.

The new iDen phones coming out don't suck. I wouldn't have any phone other than a motorola, cause I haven't seen another brand that can take a beating. Nextel does have services with South Linc, Nextel Partners, and Boost in the US.
