Another business management "Opps"!
Were any of these characters paying attention in their management classes when the chapter about about THE CUSTOMER was discussed ?!?!?! Or, were they asleep.

Re: NE2 coming up ... Droid1 almost 2 yrs old What's next in the lineup?
Thanks for your input texaswireless.
Discounted or not I'm wondering if Verizon & Moto will being a couple of new android phones on board by June / July. That might make my consideration of the now-new HTC phones more difficult. Seems that for my usage the X would be my choice IF I had to do it today. But tomorrow the X will be yesterday's phone.
NE2 coming up ... Droid1 almost 2 yrs old What's next in the lineup?
So after nearly 2 years of mostly satisfied MotoDroid 1 use it's time to start thinking about its replacement.
I'm pretty sure I want to stick with an Android phone but am open to suggestions. For example when the NE2 clock ticks down in July the now new HTC will probably have any rough edges worked out and maybe the price will come down too.
The current Motorola Droid offerings are probably at end of life and due for replacements ...

Fraudulent charges on Verizon Accounts
*** Verizon Customer Alert! Examine your billing statements immediately. A company named ESBI (Enhanced Services Billing Inc.) is applying fraudulent charges for amounts ranging from $14.95 to $16.95. You should contact Verizon to block charges, from companies like this, to your account. ***
VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I've been 99.7% satisfied with the quality of service reps have provided me as a customer during the past 20+ years w/Verizon/BAMS.
Can it be luck ? ?
Re: Omnia Review after long ownership - The jury is still out
ATB,
Thanks for the tip. I did have 5 tasks running (Facebook, Internet, etc.) and cleared them. I'll see what happens. I also use ClearTemp to free up memory on the phone and have installed my apps to the memory card and not the phone.
I used the phone during a recent trip to Europe and as a camera - it was great! Also got Skype to work pretty well whenever I was in a WiFi hotspot.
Overall, as a "phone" the ...
Re: Get Skype on your phone
I just returned from an extended holiday in Ireland. SKYPE on my OMNIA worked fine whenever I was in a good WiFi area. Voice quality was reported as fine though when calling other VOIP phones there was some echo.
Re: Omnia Review after long ownership - The jury is still out
Well it's been almost a full month since I received my 3rd Omnia. It was a refurb but seems to be working. That said, I'm remaining luke warm on this phone. It's sloooooooooowwwww ... Reminds me of the Slowskis Verizon uses for it's Internet commercials!! Wwitching between apps takes what seems forever. And switching between portrait and landscape sometimes causes the phone to lock up and it's necessary to touch the menu button to finish the task.
All in ...
Re: Get Skype on your phone; tried w/o success
Was able to (finally) install Skype and it works fine when I've got a WiFi connection.
Re: USB Charger and Synch cable
Yes, but the Omnia won't charge using the 12v USB charger and an original Samsung synch cable.
Re: Omnia and Skype
Installed successfully with active synch ... every other app was installed OK from my memory card. Lesson learned ... try both ways.
Now I have to clean up any left over files from the failed installations since they are eating up my available space.
Re: Omnia and Skype
I am unable to install the application from my microSD card. Maybe I need to do the installation from active synch?
Re: Unsolicited calls
I've been a Verizon wireless customer for more than 20 years. Though a few random dialers ping me one in a while it's still quite rare.
If they come through with a caller ID I usually let customer service know so they can track calls from random automated dialers. Some are caller unknown - not much to do except hang up.
If you ever get a persistent set of sales calls and you are able to determine what company ...
Omnia Review after long ownership - The jury is still out
I'm on my 3rd Omnia after less than 3 months.
First had a firmware problem ... second was fried by a defective original home charger; This one seems better but still has IMHO very poor battery life ... even with BT & WiFi turned off and limited use of data services and about 60-90 minutes of talk time.
Yes, it is a slick WinMob device with gadgets galore and apps that make it almost an iPhone.
BUT .. I'd like not to ...
USB Charger and Synch cable
To reduce the number of device-specific chargers I have to keep in my cars I use a USB Lighter plug. It works for my 3 Motorola phones, Garmin, Navigon NAVs .. BUT NOT FOR THE OMNIA?!?
The same synch cable charges the phone when it's tethered to the USB on my PCs.
Is the USB connection on Verizon's version of the Omnia different than all the other electronic devices on the planet?
Get Skype on your phone; tried w/o success
:(
I've been trying to install it from my sd card but get an error message that it is not a valid pocket pc application and quits the install.
I was wanting to use Skype via wifi on the Omnia when I go to Europe next month
Omnia and Skype
Downloaded Skype for WinMob; won't install. Get alert that it's "not a valid pocket pc application" even though the Omnia is listed on Skype's website.
Is this another instance of Verizon locking down parts of its phone? Suggestions welcome as I was hoping to use it via wifi in Europe.
