Thanks guys... now I'm really mad at the Verizon guy that told me the 730 could never be used as a modem. I never even tried after that...Getting closer to that 760 however. Should be in the stores in a few days.

all wm5 are quirky, I've both the palm w and i730 and felt like throwing both against the wall... soft resets, battery life, getting stuck in ring mode, etc

I had 2 - i730's. Very anoying!!! Kept locking up and would do some really weird things like continuing to ring when I answered the phone. I hope the quality and functionality is better... The i730 had the worst battery life of any pda phone out there. I hope that has improved!!! The only nice thing about the 730 was the single handed operation and that again has been compromised with the "sideways" opening ...

Do you know if it can be used as a modem for your laptop. I got rid of my 730 because it didn't have that feature...
