Re: Of course they will because ATT is crap
The plans are great, definitely a step in the right direction. Btw, don't feed the trolls. This guy probably works for verizon and he's just salty.
No Fingerprint Reader??
Can you please confirm the presence or lack of a fingerprint reader?
Shady Agents
Whenever a customer brings a box into my store from of these online agents, there is no amount of mental preparation I can do to prepare myself for the madness that ensues.
These guys lure in customers with dirt cheap prices on handsets and trap you with shady provisions and hidden costs. They both have their own contracts, on top of the carrier's they're re-selling, that penalize you $250 for making even the slightest cosmetic changes to your plan ...
This is news why?
By canceling this garbage AT&T has managed to sell as many X7's as if they had launched it, 0.
Re: Competitive Dynamic, iPhone?
If iPhone does in fact go to Vzw in Q1, it's going to cannibalize Motorola's Android sales. The Droid II (pro) and the Droid X are their most popular phones and likely the most popular phones on Vzw. If Vzw get's the iPhone, the most popular phone in the world by far, it's certainly going to effect Motorola a great deal.
"enter" - Motorola Olympus on AT&T!
Competitive Dynamic, iPhone?
If Vzw gets the iPhone it'll certaintly force Motorola to put some of this high end Android devices on AT&T. And maybe even force them to show Sprint more Android love also.
No Rebates = +$200
Carriers are moving away from mail-in rebates for smart phones. This is a direct impact of the iPhones no-rebate strategy.
Most smart phones are between $99-$199 (directly in line with the 3gs/i4) without rebate on a 2-year contract and $499-$599 off contract.
The +$200 is a fair way to offset the cost when a customer wants to upgrade early (after at least 6 months). This will bring the price between $299-$399 which happen to be the early upgrade price for the ...
No Feature Required
Dear Mods,
The $19.99 per month feature is for unlimited voice calling from the Microcell. The feature is not required but optional for unlimited calling.
No one...
...cares.
Re: Verizon is scared of AT&T, here's how I know...
It's too bad all the Vzw boys have no data to back up the crap talk. Sounds like Vzw is still bitter over the iPhone deal. Have fun giving out account numbers fellas. I'm sure "port out", "charge back" and "when are you getting iPhone" has to be getting to you.
Re: Our 3G network covers approximately 233 million people, or 75% of the U.S. population
No iPhone for Verizon after all this crap. Gloves are off, pretty sure Apple isn't jumping in the bed with a company that is bashing them.
Re: Why not?
What facts back up what you state? None I assume since your post is based on opinion rather than fact. Do you know any SBC employees that worked for marketing? Do you know any AT&T marketing employees? Probably not.
Re: Now I see what ATT's beef is!
The map that Vzw is advertising it not all RevA. Most of it is EVDO which is more comperable to EDGE than AT&T'S UMTS/HSPA in terms of speed.
Re: Verizon is scared of AT&T, here's how I know...
I think its funny how you only say I'm wrong but mention nothing specific. Based on your previous forum messages you're either a Verizon customer in contract or an employee bitter about giving out account numbers so that customers can port out. Good luck with life though. I wish you the best.
Verizon is scared of AT&T, here's how I know...
First, Verizon/Android launches the "iDont" campaign. Second Verizon launches the "There's a Map for That" campaign. Third, they raise the ETF on Premium (PDA) devices to $350.
Here is what consumers should take away from this. AT&T is kicking Verizon's butt with iPhone and everyone knows this. Verizon hasn't been losing customers but they haven't been setting the world on fire adding them either the way AT&T has. Verizon's churn is up YOY (year over year) and AT&T'S down.
All of ...
Re: AT&T lost
Just to clarify "champ", VZW does not use gsm. All of their handsets that support gsm support international bands only not AT&Ts 850/1900. The Droid has gone through the FCC rocking AT&T compatible 850/1900 GSM/UMTS frequencies w/o any CDMA on board. :o
Re: 6620
AT&T carried the 6620, T-mobile carried the 6600.
Re: 6282
FYI, AT&T never launched the 6282, it was canceled.
Sidekick Killer!!
Specwise, this phone beats up on the Sidekick pretty good.
Touch Screen
HSDPA
GPS
Blackberry Bold Release Info
Bold has been pushed back (AT&T) until at least Sept '08. The reason it has been pushed back is because it hasn't passed At&t's quality testing yet. The major issues are still the battery and the software.
at&t I'm Sure
If the Curve II is any indication, at&t will get the 8110 (w/ GPS) and T-Mobile will end up with the 8120 (w/ wi-fi).
How Do You Say...
Nokia?
is it Nock-ee-a (like Eric is pronouncing it) or is it No-key-ah like everyone else says it? /;|
Insurable
the BJ II is insurable, as is the BJ I as of right now...
Just Too Expensive...
Where do you draw the line and a phone becomes just too expensive? Sure it has a 5MP cam, US 3G, GPS...
But $800?!?!?
Oops...
The tri-band hsdpa referred to the laptop card at the bottom of the article.

One of the major differences between the Q9H and the BJII is that the Q9H will have wi-fi...
Shades of Older Models
This model design is just recycled from the old LG 9100/9200 from Cingular, circa 2005-2006
OTA Music Downloads...
...will never be popular if carriers continue to charge by the song. Why not charge a monthly recurring fee of $9.99 - $14.99 for unl downloads? I don't believe charging $.99 - $1.99 per track is even remotely attractive considering once you purchase the tracks, you are still just "renting" them. Lame  .
Eric M. Zeman
For the record, it's at&t mobility, not At&t Wireless.

The LG 9100 and F9200 from Cingular. Not impressed.
