first time charge

in the LG enV VX-9900 forum

Hi, I just ordered my Env Orange and would like to know how long I will need to charge it before I use it for the first time. Will it have a partial charge already? Or is it best to charge it first? Also I downloaded a manual earlier last month that read that I should not answer or make a call while the phone is charging. Is this a valid warning and is it only for the home ...

Re: free ringtones

in the Verizon forum

There are usually ringtone CDs and DVDs for sale on Ebay. They also include wallpapers screensavers and applications. I have bought a couple that were pretty nice. You need to be able to connect your phone to your computer to transfer them to your phone. AS always use software that you buy online at your own risk.

Is buying online any cheaper than buying a phone and service in a store? Or, are they the same? I plan to use a discount from my employer. Thanks

We do appreciate those that appreciate having a local store front for personal service when you need help... I have considered both purchase options. I thought that online ordering would be easier. I suppose it would be nice to at least test the phone out in person before buying it. Will my corporate discount work for in store purchase. Do I need to bring proof of employment? Thanks

It still works on the older TDMA at AT&T. The number is 18004664411 or 1800GOOG411. Wow, I have been calling this # for a while now and just realized the acronym :)

different internet plan for vayager?

I looked for the voyager on my employer discount site but, it is not on there yet. So, I found the preorder option on the regular Verizon site. When I picked it with the premium plan, I was told that I had to select a V-Cast option for $15. I thought that V-Cast and unlimited web 2.0 were included with the premium plan. I tried the same plan with other premium phones and did'nt need to add V-Cast. Is the V-Cast ...

more reminders
Oct 31, 2007, 3:35 PM

Lately, I have been recieving a daily text message reminding me of the Feb. 08 TDMA shut off. Today, I recieved 2 texts that read "Very Important! TDMA service will be discontinued." 8O Has the shut-off date been moved up. A sales rep told me earlier this month that I had time to wait out the Q4-07 phones. I plan to make a move in mid December either AT&T or Verizon (depending on which has the best deal for ...

I noticed that some Env owners have had trouble with thier phones from day one like the phone freezing up or the orange paint peeling. While others have had no problems at all. Is there anything I can do to make sure that the orange Env I eventually get will be in good working order? I'm looking at getting one in December unless I see a good deal before then. Thanks

5000 night & weekend minutes
Oct 21, 2007, 8:46 PM
in the AT&T forum

This may be an repeated question. But, I would like to know if AT&T ever plans to extend the 5000 night and weekend minutes on the $39.99 450 minute per month plan to unlimited nights and weekends. Or will they just discontinue the $39.99 plan? The 450 anytime minutes work well for me but I do most of my talking on nights and weekends and have somtimes gone beyond 5000. The 5000 minute limit is the only thing hindering ...

Best deals

Are the best deals on wireless service online, or in Verizon retail stores. Online with my employer's discount I can get 17% off monthly service and 20% off phones and accesaries with no activation fee. I have heard that retail stores can match this and somtimes give free phones and accessaries. Does this mean that stores offer better deal? (Especially during the slower sales period at this time of year) I'm looking at getting an LG Env. Thanks

No contract to upgrade?
Oct 17, 2007, 4:04 PM

Recent news states that existing customers can upgrade without renewing or extending a contract. As a TDMA customer (holding out for Q4 07 phones and the best deal), I get text messages from AT$T about upgrading to GSM. Does this mean that I can now upgrade without entering a new contract? Thanks,

test drive
Oct 9, 2007, 11:36 AM

Is it neccesary to let the sales rep know up front that you are planning to do a test drive? Or are these just regular contracts that can be cancled before 30 days? Also, if you can get a free phone with the plan does it make the retuns simpler since you won't have worry about getting money back for the phone. If you get a select or premium plan will the messaging and internet be covered or ...

Re: picking your plan

Actually, My plan is to start a PYP account as a seperate account and phone number without canceling my TDMA account. Then, if I like the coverage and service I can simply cancel the PYP and upgrade my TDMA to GSM the usual way. I would probably go through the process without telling them I am an existing TDMA customer if neccesary  . Also, is it possible for post-paid customers to switch extras like medianet and messaging ...

picking your plan

I was talking to customer service on the phone and asked about the pick your plan accounts. I want to try out the GSM service before upgrading my TDMA account.
