I just bought a trac phone for my mom along with a card for 250 min. In total, she had 350 minutes. After making one call and receiving two calls that she did not answer, she was down to 150 minutes. That's 200 minutes for one call. Anybody have that experience? I made one of those calls and a voice said her voice mail was not set up so it couldn't take more than a minute off her time. ...

I think something was lost in translation. Which are you saying is the better deal? Tracfone or the two year contract? I didn't read anything about paying out $60 extra. I have ATT and an analog phone that will soon be out of support. I pay $30/mon for 250 min. They want a 2 yr contract for their minimum service at $40/mon. I don't use 100 min./mon. now. Which do you say is the better deal for me? Tracfone or ...

Well, I thought that GSM does have worldwide capability. At least, the Europeans use it as well as T-Mobil. CDMA seems to be a Verizon thing. Question to all Tracfone mavens: How can you tell if the phone you're buying off the shelf is a GSM or CDMA phone? Are they marked? My wife talks about 50 minutes/month(definitely less than 100min) and AT&T)aka Cingular) is discontinuing analog transmissions soon(she has a dinosaur phone). ATT wants a 2yr contract and I ...
