Double whammy...Paying the government to do this to us (taxes) and paying for the extra cost incurred by the phone companies to have it done...

"and we must choose between the lesser of two evils." I never liked that statement as a vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for  E V I L  If I don't like either main party candidate I will usually vote for a third party candidate as it helps them to qualify for funds during the next election cycle. However, your second paragraph is dead on.

Verizon licensed the "Droid" name, from Lucas Films, for the Android powered phones that they sell. Same phones, not including Motorola brand, on other networks are called something else. Motorola also pays for the use of the name for their "Droid" phones.

I am unlimited, and under contract until February. Verizon "required" me to upgrade my phones from the ones that I had when they acquired Alltel. I told them that as they were the ones making me change phones, I would walk if I could not keep my unlimited plan.

Correct. I was only pointing out that there are people with unlimited data that are still under contract. However, my free tethering did disappear when I re-upped. Alltel never charged me for it, and neither did Verizon until I "upgraded" phones. :(

I'm under a two year unlimited until next February. They required me to upgrade my older Altell phones (Treo Pros) and I said that I would walk if I could not keep my grandfathered in unlimited plan as it was them requiring me to change.

Apotheker does not care how HP ends up.

in the Article: HP Decides to Kill Off webOS Devices, May License OS forum

Apotheker is using HP as a means to stick it to Oracle after SAP (Apotheker's former company) was forced to pay more than a billion dollars for illegal use of Oracle software. I think that he will drive HP into the ground if HP's board doesn't wake up soon...
