When is 3G service coming to Dayton Ohio. I know Dayton is in line to get Uverse in the next year or two. The new mobile tv network is already built in Dayton but needs final FCC approval. So whats the 3g hold up.
Re: Voyager = PERFECT
The I-phone can be a world phone if really want it be(and money isnt an option). The Yoyager doesnt even have the ability to be one for the most part.
You are right about the marketing but i would rate them the same. Normally i would give Apple an edge but just the way they announced the Voyager, Pearl, and Venus was differnt for them. I really think their going to step up their advertising for the Voyager.
Google/Sprint Merger RUMOR!!!!!!!
Have any of you Sprint People heard anything about this possible being true. I've read a couple of articles about this being POSSIBLY considered.
I personally would love to have Google in the telecome industry directly but thats just me.
Let me know
Re: Voyager = PERFECT
I have had the pleasure of using the phone in person like MidnightDT. (I know a Beta Tester)
The phone is honestly better than i thought it would be. But basically the phone is a touch screen EnVy. It's a lot smaller than the pic's make it look when i first saw it i was shocked at its size. I watch like 5 minutes of mobile tv on it too and i was very impressed. Overall the phone is cool ...
Re: If you have any questions, I will try to help. (UMB or LTE)
Whats the rest of the world going to use for 4g data? So far it's LTE for VZW, ATT, and Voda. Sprint is going to Wimax with a couple Asian companies I believe. What about the likes of Orange , O2, Sk, Telefónica, and Deutsche Telekom.
This is the providers fault
Let's all face it, the wireless providers have got to greedy over the past few years. Initially contracts were used to justify lower initial handset cost for the consumer, which was fine. However now they extend contracts for any reason which is not justifiable in my book. Why should anyone sign a new contract for switching their plan it makes no logical sense.
All providers have activation and upgrade fees for contract customers, however the same providers either don't charge ...
Re: I'm the first to post
I was talking about the 5610 I stated that in my previous post
Re: I'm the first to post
T-Mobile's 3G network will use the 1700 and 2100 frequency's. This phone has two version with 3g data, one with 850 and 1900(U.S. ATT) and one with 850 and 2100(Europe).
I really doubt they would release a phone that is only compatible for half of their 2 billion dollar high speed network.
They could but I just doubt hey will
Here is the link to the wikipedia T-Mobile USA page. It talks about 3G in the third paragraph
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-mobile_usa
Re: I'm the first to post
The 5610 is not compatible with T-Mobile upcoming 3G network. So I really doubt they will carry it.
ATT?
Wonder if this phone will go to ATT. It compatible with their 3G network and looks sweet. If anyone ket any info let me know :D
I'm the first to post
This phone seems tight. I'd say since it lacks 3g that it will land with T-Mobile or a few different regional carriers, Suncom,Cincy Bell etc
Re: Whats everone think of UMA devices
My own at home and i connected at a few extra places like the mall, coffee shope etc.
Rating System
Have you guys ever thought of adding a rating system to the forums. Something similiar to you tube's rating system. I think this would make posting a little more fun
Re: Blackberry Curve.
No you are right about the extra data speed, it does make the phone more appealing to most people.
Don't get me wrong i like the idea of uma in theory. However I don't feel this feature will be really popular until all the bugs are worked out of it.
My main problem with uma is that carriers charge their users for it. It's a feature of the phone that if anything saves the carrier money by keeping users off ...
Whats everone think of UMA devices
I just got done writing a reply in the T-Mobile forum about a possible uma enabled Curve and it got me thinking about uma devices in general.
I currently work for Cincy Bell, which supports uma, but I really haven't seen a big response from the general public to get uma. Most common people just don't seem to care about it at all, and Bell doesn't even charge for it on some plans, it's FREE for life.
I've used the Nokia ...
Re: Blackberry Curve.
I don't get why a blackberry needs uma?
/;|
1st. The uma feature sucks. I've used it personally and the hand-off drops way to often for any one in the business world!
2nd. It's another thing to drain the battery. Most blackberry users have blue tooth headsets because the phones are so big. If they tried to use UMA and BT the battery doesn't stand a chance.
In my own personal opinion UMA devices are a great idea but I ...
Re: New LG Chocolate; any new colors coming soon?
I'm sure they will, The chocolate phones were all big sellers for verizon last year. I'd say November before they become avail.
Memo to Nokia
YOU DON'T NEED 30 BAR PHONES WITH THE SAME FEATURES.
Try making some slider or swivel phones, try making some more pda's, or make a touchscreen phone. Stop producing the same old ****??
P.S.
Fire your design team, HOW MANY UGLY PHONES DOES ONE COMPANY NEED.
No U.S. 3G!!! So Sad

Maybe this Nokia will be like the N95 and get an U.S. 3 G version in about a year.
Re: K800i and optional headphones?
Yes i believe you Can :D :D
Re: poor management
That is true. But this is only the first fine. They still have to switch the remaining customers over to the new headsets or the FCC will simply fine them again. So in my opinion their crappy management cost them a million dollars.
Sprint has a lot of potential with Wimax, but they really need to get asses in gear and not let stupid things like this happen again.
Re: Nokia does it again...
I think ATT will pick up the N95. Nokia made it US compatible for some one
Re: Initial Reaction to V9M
Try holding down the *or # keys. That does it on a couple of Moto's
New Job
I just got offered a Job at Verizon as a CSR. In currently an actual Rep for another company. How long does it normally take for a CSR to move up to a Full Retail Rep
Re: Nokia
They are going to. Theirs an article of the main page of phone scoop about it. Apparently it not just going to be one phone but most s60 phones
Re: Nokia
Sorry i meant to say if the new Gaming phones from Nokia are popular i can see Nokia taking off stateside
Nokia
I really hope this product takes off. If it's really successful we are going to see allot more HIGH END Nokia coming stateside, in a timely manner(Instead of a year after its release,ie N95) Just think if ATT starts carrying more High end Nokia's and More Apple phones they might be come unstoppable.
This could be great for the US Handset market

Revise Nokia Batteries
I guess Engadget.com retracted the part of the story about the batteries possibly exploding, apparently they just over overheat then pop out the phone.
Nokia Batteries
Apparently Nokia has battery problems with about 46 million devices possible affected. I guess they might explode
Re: I have the US version?
Cincy Bell just got this phone last month and so far we've had no problems yet. The screen is amazing and the pictures seem better than my n91 pics. Overall it seems like a very solid phone. And of course we do have the American version of the phone with 850
Re: Cincinnati Bell
I don't believe bell was part of the 2004 devstiture, they were partly owned bt cingy until early 2006. But i do agree that the main reason to buy Bell would be the landline and Dsl service.
Re: Who
It appears this phone is going to be carried by regional carriers before any nation wide carriers get it.
Re: we have it!!
How do you have exclusive rights when Cincinnati Bell is releasing this phone later this month. We just recieved our initial training packed on the phone today.
Re: Cincinnati Bell
Yes Bell does still does landline, I assume it would be for the whole company. I dont know any details all i have heard is rumors that AT&T wants to buy Bell out.
Cincinnati Bell
I've been hearing some rumors that AT&T might be considering buying out Cincinnati Bell wireless. I'm trying to see if any of you AT&T guys have heard anything about this. I'm a dist. in the Cinci area and I always here rumors about a merger, but lately i've been hearing alot more of them
