I agree with the previous reply, although I think Opera is a better browser. Skyfire is cool bc it allows flash video content, but Opera is more like a desktop browser.

Actually it shouldn't even be that difficult, as almost all customers have already been migrated, and the transition to qChat is intended to be seamless. Only question at this point is whether or not you are in one of the markets (45+) that have the service currently available. If so, a store rep will be able to help you. If not, you'll have to wait till sometime between now and the end of the year.

Just got a response from Motorola on the underscore... you have to hit the Function key followed immediately by the Shift key. This will bring up a large menu of special characters and the underscore is the first selection. Tried this and it works with a small delay. The trick is to release the Fn button. If you hit both at the same time, the symbol menu will not come up. Also, again, this is on the Sprint Q, but the ...

1)Didn't notice that until I read your post. I'll email MOTO and see if there is something that we are missing. 2)Nothing beats a sanyo for reception, especially the older ones. While the network could have some impact, it is more likely the phone. 3)Manufacturers indicate signal strength differently, and even the same manufacturer can have some variation between models, especially when internal antennae are concerned. 4)160 is the system imposed limit on SMS tect messages. The Q should auto-divide a ...

Okay, so this is NOT an iPhone. The UI on the iPhone is spectacular, and I cry myself to sleep every night after praying that Sprint will get some cupertino lovin before I retire in 2044. Having said that, the Touch is a move in the right direction, even if it isn't as perfect an iteration as Apple's first venture. It does retain some functionality and capability that the iPhone lacks, namely MS Exchange Syncing, Live TV viewing (via ...

Great phone. Get some sort of cover (Zagg Inc. makes a cool skin to proteck that precious shine) but I have it and have no regrets. Volume is good, speaker is GREAT for talk or music, and call quality is top notch. TV is quick and will even broadcast sound over stereo BT unlike every other TV phone, web is comparable to Samsung and LG, and processor is up to par with other Power Vision handsets (no lag ...

Tough one. Really depends if you need the PDA functionality or not. The V9 is a great phone, but is somewhat limited in its ability to do PDA stuff, i.e. email/web/schedule. It is definitely a top notch phone - i think Moto sound quality is unbeatable - and to be honest, the mogul is not loud enough all the time. Personally I am carrying both, one for talk (V9M) and one for data (Mogul). If I had to ...

Not sure on USC, but I know Sprint doesn't have that feature. A few of the other gadget sites (engadget/gizmodo/phonearena) had a comparo of the big 4 and what carrier got what features. If i remember, the AT&T one was the only one with email ability.

verizon waters down all their phones to create a "uniform customer experience across handsets and thereby improve customer satisfaction." That's wireless-speak for dumb down high end features and customizability and lock down bluetooth so they can charge you sixty bucks a month for a broadband card.

Not sure what to tell you. Rokr sounds like a great phone, especially if Moto actually puts their new Linux powered os in it, but the RAZR2 is a sweet phone, and I personally prefer the flip form factor. Plus that phone is supposed to be out soon so you could always try the RAZR out and if it dodn't work for you return it within 30 days. Who knows, the rokr might even be out by then. ...

For the size this battery is great. Maybe it is just because it is in comparison to my Mogul, but i am a heavy user, and this lasts me 2 days. I haven't had a phone do that since the nineties. Seriously though, my last phone was an m610 and this stomps that phone no question. Initial conditioning is important, moreso than i experienced with other phones, but after that, look forward to not having to plug your phone ...

Not an easy answer, but I'll try and help you out. I have a Mogul, my wife has a 755, so I have experience with both. Neither of us would trade for the other. There are other browsers (most notably Opera Mini) that will work on the treo (and Mogul for that matter) but if internet is high priority, the Mogul DEFINITELY trumps the treo bc of faster browsing and built in WIFI. I can't ...

So just as an FYI, the same thing works if you purchase the songs through the music store and want to get a version to play in the phone's windows media player. The biggest benefit here is that wmp will allow you to do other things while music is playing in the background, where the music store is touchy at best and stops when you open another app.

MobiTV does work on the Mogul. It is not accessed through the Sprint Content Menu on the phone, however on the MobiTV website (I'm there on my Mogul right now) it lists the PPC 6800 as a supported device. Hope this makes your decision easier. I have used both phones, and I have to be honest the Mogul gets more impressive every day...

another thing to consider is the cost of data plans. sprint's data is 15-30 dollars cheaper per month, which will essentially pay for the mogul over a 2 year agreement. I am biased as I work for sprint, but I think sprint's status as number one in data usage speaks for itself.

The biggest benefit of Good is the access it gives you to your corp address book, which is a huge bonus if you ask me. You are able to search in personal contacts, or your global address book, and even copy people from the latter to the former. The downside is that you need to have the server in order to do this, which is not cheap, and not practical for an individual user. Also, one small disadvantage ...

So I got this phone almost a week ago. Truth be told I am trying it out and comparing to the Mogul. Initial impressions were a landslide victory for the 8830, but then a few days later, I got the BES hooked up. Now my battery is gone by 5:00. Even my Q lasted longer than that. Jul 23, 2007, 1:19 PM

I'll echo the above comment. The treo is a nice concept for everything that it has, but the BB is simply a better phone. More stable, fewer resets, better feel, smaller, lighter, and when my store sells a blackberry I don't recall one ever coming back. The only downside to be aware of with Sprint is that the web will be more expensive on the BB for unlimited data than the treo, but it is still cheaper ...

Jul 13, 2007, 4:05 PM
in the HTC Mogul / XV6800 / PPC6800 / P4000 forum

On Sprint's first PPC (6600) this was true, and removing the battery would erase your contacts about 25% of the time. The 6700 corrected this problem, however, and it would stand to reason that HTC is not going to revert back to volatile memory, which I believe was the cause of this issue. The Sales rep you talked to needs to be slapped!

Re: How do you punch in a name?
Jul 6, 2007, 1:18 AM
in the BlackBerry 8830 forum

With most IVRU systems, the letters are reflected on a standard phone keyboard and the system uses logic to narrow the options based on the keys you enter. The numbers are what counts, not the letters. As such, you can still dial as if your keypad had letters on it (2=abc, 3=def, and so on) using the numbers on the qwerty keyboard. Note that 7 and 9 both represent 4 letters each.
