Re: Eric Zeman: Samsung Captivate suffers from "Death Grip" too...
The Samsung Galaxy S "Vibrant" on T-Mobile really BLOWS with this issue.
Here's my vid on the Vibrant death grip.

Got em' yesterday
Utah Best Buy's got those yesterday, and have already put them out...
is the 28th the street day?
Re: I'd get this in a heartbeat !
Nope.
Re: Most rollover minutes you have seen..
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! I was old by a rep on the phone that because my mother died, we could keep all our rollover minutes when I transferred the account into my name. Can you guess what happened? I raised absolute hell and won our minutes back. I thought it was BS that we were required to extend all our lines 11 months. At least they (smartly) removed the three $18 dollar charges on each line. It was not a good day ...
Text threading???
Is there a way to thread text messages? It seems like such a nice phone would be capable of a simple feature like that. Especially since the Xenon can do it.
Also, how do I get picture texts to show up automatically without having to retrieve them?
Re: Most rollover minutes you have seen..
Or...like myself....you have a wife that's getting ready to hop onto your plan in November and you need all the back up you can get!
I have the 1400 min plan with 6,000 rollover....i suppose that's not crazy, but the only reason I haven't dropped it is because of the new line we're about to add.
can't wait
I really can't wait to get onto LTE. I'm signing my last contract with AT&T this November, then we're all moving over to Verizon after the two years are up! We'll also be moving to Northern VA, and Verizon is sweet out there. Here in Utah, it's pretty much either or, don't care. They both do well out here.
Actually, I'm thinking about moving to richmond. I wonder how AT&T does down there.
would work with iPhone
There have been failed attempts at this before. Newegg.com had a stylus for the iPhone, but discontinued it because it wasn't working very well. This should work with the iPhone, but I heard magnets and iPhones are not the best of friends.
Re: Geek Squad
They stopped charging that.
Re: but first
I used to work for SCK, and it was good pay. In the end, however, Best Buy's discount is to die for. Seriously, it'd make you sick if you knew. It's 5% above cost storewide. Yes, it's beautiful.
Re: but first
Actually, Best Buy Mobile employee's earn a monthly bonus based on notional margin sold during the month, and usually are paid higher than the rest of the store employees.
To give them credit, they do send their Mobil employee's to a week long training. I never got official training at the SCK Radioshack owned kiosk. I had to read phonescoop everyday to train myself.
Re: Here's an awesome idea for Best Buy
They used to use all real phones, but here were the issues:
Constantly stolen, issues with different charging cables, alarms constantly going off, pricey.
With using dummy models, it helped them eradicate annoying things for the end user, such as mail in rebates. The pricing is generally lower on phones compared to mall kiosks and corp stores. Whatever isn't lower is usually price matched.
And they don't require data plans to get a cheaper price. Some phones, granted, require the data with ...
Re: WAKE UP SHEEP!!!!!!!
Ditch em. I don't have my Juno account. When spam eats my account, I switch to a new one. Yahoo's spam filter is starting to really suck.
I hate the fact that I pay $30 a month to get spam pushed to my phone. At least deleting it's a breeze.
Re: So MMS wont work on iPhone 3G with OS 3.0??
Change phone features in POS II.
Re: So MMS wont work on iPhone 3G with OS 3.0??
I'm going to manually remove it in POS II and see if I can text. My guess is that I will be able to.
Re: So MMS wont work on iPhone 3G with OS 3.0??
I suppose you're the carrier genius. I'm going to manually remove the "Opt Out MMS" and see what happens.
You seem to just be an angry individual that has brought nothing to this conversation.
Re: The Same
I heard unlimited data on phone, and $70 total to tether, given the 5 gig limit of course, but this goes against what the Curve is with tethering on Verizon. (60 total.) Usually AT&T will keep pricing similar to VZ.
Re: HA HA! TAKE THAT PALM PRE!!
Great statement: The local sprint store has a 3 week waiting list right now. That's probably a success for any phone.
Re: HA HA! TAKE THAT PALM PRE!!
Yes, let's judge a phone based on the kids that have them...
Kids are actually more tech savvy as time goes on. They probably know more about computers than your average 50 year old.
I have a video of myself playing a DOS game when I was 3 in 1986. I'm now telling my Dad what "shareware" (or, open source) to use in order to convert video to his new phone.
I know my kids are gonna laugh at my retardation ...
Re: WAKE UP SHEEP!!!!!!!
I think it's a great phone when you can conference call three people, AND browse the web on wifi or 3G.
I think your wants in a smartphone are too demanding. If you really want all that, get a Treo Pro.
I prefer limits on what the phone can do well, not pushing the phone to the brink of losing battery in a few minutes because I can't wait for an app to open. (2 seconds.) You're just really ADHD.
Re: WAKE UP SHEEP!!!!!!!
Sure, bash on the people that have the iPhone, then make a comment about what it'd take to get one, while sounding like you're already using one.
Seven email accounts? Do you have, like, 6 jobs and 1 personal account? Is that really necessary?
I'm not a sheep. I think Apple is smart. They're not entirely pissing me off for getting a 3G, because the update just isn't worth it, really. But it's VERY enticing to those on the original iPhones, ...
Re: So MMS wont work on iPhone 3G with OS 3.0??
I heard a little rumour that it'd due to AT&T having to remove "MMS opt out" on all their 3G iphone accounts. That's what I hear.
So, I am going to manually remove mine, and upgrade to the 3.0 on the 17th, and if I remember, I'll report back and let you know if I can send and receive picture text. My guess is that I should be able to.
As for now, Emoji icons do an okay job.
Re: Hahahhaa
Actually, I'm a gun toting conservative. NRA member as well. It's called "mocking" a company. I could care less about carbon footprint. I think this planet has survived worse than my SUV.
That's it...
...I'm burning a tire in my backyard.
Hahahhaa
The real heading of this should be "Tariff laws cause LG to make larger carbon footprint."
What a load of crap.
Re: Anyone else's keyboard stopped working?
No, but I feel like this is going to be a massive problem with AT&T.
I had a small feeling in the back of my mind that this phone isn't for me and my wife. Thanks for the heads up. Returning it asap! I'll wait for the kinks to get removed.
Re: So....
How can I not read?
Re: ATTN: Apple
...and the answer is I DO! I have stereo bluetooth on my iPhone right now. So, poo on your guys parade.
I'm on a Dev team, and I have the 3.0 software. Works great with copy/paste and stereo bluetooth.
What's INS? Insert?
Re: movie playback
Beautiful! Thanks!
Re: ATTN: Apple
I had to buy the phone outright, and the future is still bleak with Sprint. Too little, too late...
Re: So....
Their own? Stop assuming I work for AT&T. I'll admit to selling them and other services.
Re: So....
Don't be retarded.
Have you ever considered it might be your beloved BB Bold? I've heard that phone has issues.
Try a nokia prepaid phone before you start crying. Or try to update the Bold's software.
Xenon movie playback
What format does a movie have to be in to be viewed on the Xenon?
I would have gotten the Impression, but I had a limit on what I was gonna spend to get my Dad a new phone.(I wish I coulda got the Impression. Much better phone.)
Re: ATTN: Apple
I'm still under contract with Sprint on my wife's phone. Before last June, I was the owner of that line.
Reception was iffy. My first phone started dropping calls, and got to the point where nobody could even hear me. On the phone with customer care was a hassle, and I avoid it like the plauge.
You can claim that Sprint is great, but everyone I know that is still under contract plans on switching carriers when the contract is up.
They ...
movie playback
I just bought this phone for my Dad for his birthday. I wanted to know what format a movie would have to be in to playback. Anyone know? Thanks.
Re: ATTN: Apple
Yeah, you lose that argument. I can replace the battery. But I haven't had to after a year of extensive use. NEXT.
Re: ATTN: Apple
I don't think it'll tank. In matter of fact, I think it'll save them.
I think it'll outdo the Storm and G1...but I don't think having it exclusive on Sprint will help. Sprint bloooooooooooows.
Re: ATTN: Apple
In Utah we have a chain of AT&T stores owned by Spring, but they totally look like AT&T corporate stores. People always ask about the iPhone, and they usually say, "We don't carry it because of all the problems it has."
Yeah, those lousy things practically sell themselves. It's a big problem.
Morons.
Re: ATTN: Apple
I would love you to name one feature that a Virgin phone can do that the new 3.0 iPhone software cannot.
