I would assume that the biggest benefit is going to be to indirect dealers where instead of getting paid on a $39.99 + data they will get paid for a $79.99 rate plan. Maybe Verizon is trying to make up for giving the shaft to dealers for the past 5+ years... :wink:

DO NO USE RIM OR MOTOROLA CHARGERS TO CHARGE THE 6800…
Rim and Motorola use a different OHM and Amperage, which will result in a burnt out battery. This battery burnout will result in decreased life span of the battery and the batteries inability to hold a charge. Using the wrong charger will result in the battery not being covered under the warranty.

Hmm ok I didn't necessarily mean that Sprint should be pouring a ton more money into advertising campaigns (although you do have to spend money to make money) I was more pointing out the fact that they should refocus the money they are already spending on marketing to include more then just the Upstage.
Also how exactly does Sprint need to catch up to Verizon in EVDO? Last I checked it was Verizon catching up to Sprint in the Rev-A ...

I guess I'm the only one that is excited to have POP3 on a cell phone(non-PDA)? I was going to get the DLX but this would be pretty sweet. Might even give me a reason to ditch my 7520 too! :P

Not advertising the PowerSource phones was a little different though because it can be taken as saying Nextel coverage/call quality/almost everything except Direct Connect sucks. Sprint not advertising the 6800 when the two main competitors are advertising PDA phones just seems silly. Currently they are pouring their money in advertising the Upstage (which is almost unusable for most 35+ year olds) and the Red Razr (isn't the v3 about 3 years old now?).

Why is it that when Sprint finally gets an exclusive(even if just temporary)on a smart phone they don't advertise it? AT&Tular is advertising the iphone like crazy and it's not even out, Verizon is advertising the 8830 quite a lot too. Actually you are not charged more for Picture Mail anymore, it is included on ALL Power Vision packs including the $15 one.

I'm pretty sure 10 years ago we were using 14.4k modems. I'm not quite sure what speeds you are expecting but that aircard speed is faster then most DSL connections... :roll:

What chip set does the iPhone use? That would be pretty funny (to me as a Sprint guy) if after all this time AT&Tular couldn't sell the iPhone because of this. :P 8) :twisted:

According to the indirect Sprint/Nextel website they both have a release date of 7/15. This doesn't mean one or both will get pushed back (see i930 :D ) but as of right now that is the release date Sprint is telling us.

That one is the Katana DLX, it will be $50 more then the II. The release date on both is 7/15. I might have finally found something to replace my 900m! Although seeing the way Sanyos have looked over the last couple years maybe not... :?

m510 vs m610
Sooo..... Can anyone see a reason to get the 510 right now? With the recent price drop of the the m610 down to $129.99 after the instant rebate why would anyone get this phone? I know the 610 is being discontinued but until that happens or until the drop the price down to the price of the 500 I can't see myself selling many if any of these phones.
