iPhone 5S unlock question
May 11, 2014, 2:35 PM
in the Verizon Wireless forum

I have an ATT iPhone 5S that I unlocked, same model number of the Verizon iPhone 5S. But when I go to activate it it says 'No Service' and it won't allow me to activate online either. I'm just swapping my nano SIM from my Droid Maxx to the iPhone 5S, I figured it should work. Thought that was the point of the iPhone 5S being the same across most carriers here in the US.

Sprint even had enough customers or data speeds worth throttling? :o Who knew!?! I gave up on Sprint long ago when I had to turn Wi-Fi off just to receive picture messages.

Am I missing something? Why does ATT only offer a 5GB/$50 plan for hotspots and other internet devices? I don't need 5GB and I don't want to pay $50/month. I was looking for something like T-Mobile's 2GB/$30 data plan.

I have an ATT phone so I ordered a SIM card only, entered all the info to port out of VZW. SIM card isn't supposed to arrive for a couple days, but my current VZW phone quit working yesterday. :? As if someone completed the port out already. But usually you need to actually put the SIM card into the new phone before you loose service on your old phone. Direct sunlight outside, in a car, by the window even with the brightness all the way up I can barely see what's in the screen. Combine that with wearing sunglasses...forget about it! iPhone and Droid DNA, no problem.

I signed into my Google and now the GPS arrow is always on. And under location services it's highlighted purple next to Google. Turned it off and the icon went away. I would think this would be a battery drain issue if Google Now is always using your GPS location.

TMO 1900MHz network modernization question
Mar 27, 2013, 3:05 PM
in the T-Mobile forum

I was looking at the specs of my HTC One S and it doesn't have the WCDMA 1900. So I'm wondering with TMO pushing to spread their 1900MHz coverage to work with older iPhones. Are they shutting down the 1700Mhz? Therefore limiting phones like the One S. Or will these phones that were specifically made for TMO before their modernization continue to work just fine?

Now I wonder
