Re: Voice mail notifications
GrinderCB said: iPhone uses its own voicemail system, different from the carrier-supplied voicemail that all other VZW phones use. If you upgraded from iPhone to an Android then you have to go in and set up the voicemail box all over again. Messages stored in the iPhone voicemail box do not directly transfer over. From the new Android, try dialing *86 and see if you get prompted to setup voicemail for the first time. That's the thing, I ...
Voice mail notifications
Not coming through after going from iPhone to Android. 8O Any ideas? And if I put my SIM back in my iPhone I'll get the notification of awaiting VM. :?
Re: Switched Sim Card and activated phone myself. Bad Idea?
It doesn't matter. People do it all the time between smartphones. If you log into your MyVerizon you'll see they already know what phone you're now using.
Re: GPS Always on
Right. But wouldn't you want the app to use when you open it. Not leave the GPS always running?
GPS Always on
I signed into my Google and now the GPS arrow is always on. And under location services it's highlighted purple next to Google. Turned it off and the icon went away. I would think this would be a battery drain issue if Google Now is always using your GPS location.
Re: Goodbye 20 month upgrades
Since it's a change in your contract. I wonder if you could get out of your contract without an ETF? :?
Re: Signal Strength
Check here; http://www.rootmetrics.com/check-cover age/ And here; http://opensignal.com/ I like Open Signal because you can see a carrier's towers.
Re: iPhone is for sale
Now it initially says $650 down. But keep clicking through the order and comes to only $99 down. Obviously working the bugs out.
iPhone is for sale
iPhone 5 is up for sale on TMO's site. But can't complete order. :?
Droid DNA Case w/Kickstand
Having trouble finding a case for the DNA with a kickstand. Only one I've found is Seidio's active. Which I'm not interested in. I think it adds too much girth to the phone. Anyone know of other cases with a kickstand?
Re: TMO 1900MHz network modernization question
adam2106 said: maybe this might help: "T-Mobile USA is in the process of implementing a network overhaul that will see it migrate HSPA-based services into its 1.9 GHz band that will then free up its 1.7/2.1 GHz spectrum for the rollout of LTE." Not really. But this article I found does. http://www.tmonews.com/2013/03/takin g-another-look-at-the-current-iphone-5-and-ho w-it-works-on-t-mobile/ The iPhone 5 releasing on April 12th: Model A1428…what will work? HSPA+ 42Mbps on the 1700 band HSPA+ 21Mbps on the 1900 band — this is due to the T-Mobile’s 1900MHz not being DC-HSDPA ...
TMO 1900MHz network modernization question
I was looking at the specs of my HTC One S and it doesn't have the WCDMA 1900. So I'm wondering with TMO pushing to spread their 1900MHz coverage to work with older iPhones. Are they shutting down the 1700Mhz? Therefore limiting phones like the One S. Or will these phones that were specifically made for TMO before their modernization continue to work just fine?
Now I wonder
If TMO's iPhone 5 will have their Wifi calling?
For clearing that up.
Re: STOP THE INSANITY...iPhone???
It supports T-Mobile's LTE network, in addition to HSPA+ in the 1700 and 1900 MHz spectrum. T-Mobile's version of the iPhone 5 will also be the only variant to offer HD voice. Okay, now I see the light.
STOP THE INSANITY...iPhone???
Okay I'll admit,I must be missing something. Or is it any iPhone is missing the 1700 MHz, RIGHT? Which TMO uses. So one's experience with a TMO iPhone could be quite disappointing, right? Because if you don't live in one of their modernized areas or LTE area. You're going to be still stuck on EDGE because none of the iPhones have a 1700 MHz radio. Why offer em' then!? /;|
terryjohnson16 said: Strange how we haven't heard a word about the iPhone being sold and how much on T-Mobile since they announced it coming. That's what I've been wondering as well, WHAT iPhone will TMO get!?! Because an unlocked one just isn't doing it. I'd like to see one with full support for TMO's network.
Re: Want to upgrade but still have unltd data
If you're going to do that sign your unlimited contract over to someone who wants it. Then start a new shared plan for yourself.
I'm still thinking they're going to be some unhappy customers when they purchase an LTE only device. Only to find out it VZW still has some big LTE gaps. Especially in building. /;|
Re: T-Mobile tanking in USA?
Let's wait and see what happens with the Metro PCS merger. Although it doesn't sound good right now. But you never know.
VZW allows you to block phone numbers from your MyVerizon page. Will this also block iMessages from a number you want to block? :?
VZW MMS on Androids
I've seen this before on Android phones I've used with Verizon. When you receive a picture (MMS) it plays it like a mini movie and you can't pinch to zoom or anything. How do you get an Android phone to handle MMS's like every other phone? If someone sends a picture that's to small you can't enlarge it.

Re: iPhone 4s to HTC DNA
Good question but I don't have an answer. Verizon's LTE SIMS don't seem to be as user friendly as regular ATT & TMO SIMS. They deactivate them within 24Hrs, you usually have to call or go to a store to activate one. kind of a pain when you're used to GSM carriers. I do know if you attempt to activate a 4G phone via MyVerizon, there's an option to have them send you a 4G SIM.
Fringe 4G area and RAZR HD/iPhone 5
So where I work there are VZW 3G & 1XRTT repeaters. I tried out the RAZR HD and it latches onto 1-2 bars of 4G and is virtually useless. No data, no nothing and I can't get it to switch to 3G which obviously I'd get full bars. I was wondering if the iPhone 5 is better at switching to the stronger signal in the area? Or if it's radio would act the same as the RAZR's...any 4G signal ...
On what Apple product T-Mobile will get in the next few months? iPhone 4S, 5, 5S, mini...? If it's a iPhone mini I think that'd kinda be a slap in the face and a let down. /;|
iPhone to Android reset iMessages.
Any help with this would be appreciated? Going from an iPhone which I was using iMessages to an Android. ATT seems to reset and go back to regular texts no problem. But on Verizon texts don't go through either way. I have to have another Verizon iPhone user turn off their iMessages, we swap texts, then they can turn iMessages back on. Then texts start to flow between the two OS's just fine. Why doesn't the network pick this ...
Re: Kickin Tmobile to the curb,,,
It's so funny what people will do for a new phone. :o And you wonder why they're so reluctant to replace your phone. Especially after you threw it on the floor. Sounds like a temper tantrum. Enjoy Sprint, they're worse than TMO.
Drop to 2G when sending an MMS
Anyone else notice their TMO 4G phone drop to 2G when sending picture messages? :? Then it goes right back to saying 4G.
Re: Tmobile signal
I'd be patient. TMO really is doing allot of work to their network. If it was fine and now it's not, chances are they really are doing something in the Portland area.
Re: Need help choosing: HTC DNA or HTC Windows 8 help!!!
Keep you interested? Android, way more apps than Windows right now.
If TMO's Wi-Fi calling will be included on a 2013 iPhone? /;|
Re: Next Apple will Sue T-Mo and MPCS
dabbler said: I wonder if AT&T, with its considerable lobbying power is pushing all this from behind the scenes. I don't see what security concerns FBI might have here. Is MPCS owned by the Chinese gov? No, they're going to own Sprint. Right?
Re: Looking to Switch??
I'd suggest using this site. http://www.rootmetrics.com/ Altho ugh they may not have much data from your area, they' helped me choose Verizon in my area. With T-Mobile a very close 2nd. The reason I chose Verizon & T-Mobile were based on reviews from the above mentioned site on how fast text's were delivered within an carrier and cross carriers. I read one review that Sprint was fine with text's within it's own network but could take up to 20 minutes going out ...
I'v got a iPhone 5 but I also had an 4S upgraded with iOS6. And between some of the bugss of the new iOS and app haven't been rewritten to take advantage of the iPhone 5's bigger screen. I'd like to go back to an 4S with an older iOS and jail broken. Yes, yes there are the well published problems with either the new iOS or iPhone 5. Something I experienced recently on the iPhone 5, watching a ...
New iPhone 4S
If I were to buy a new iPhone 4S what iOS would be on it? Hopefully 5. something.
I don't think Verizon
Had a choice. I mean iPhone's are pretty well untouched by carriers. Although mine was from ATT. The box was shrink wrapped and there was an ATT SIM already installed. Therefore untouched by the carrier. I think once again Apple was like "this is what you get. Sell it or not, we don't care wireless carriers."
Re: Problems in Los Angeles area...Glendale!!!????
AT&T just turned LTE on in Sacramento. Maybe they're working on your area. :?
Re: AT&T subsidised price more than Verizon
Realized that after going to AT&T site. Rather than through Apple's.
And AT&T's website crashes!
Need I say more? :o
