If you upgraded from iPhone to an Android then you have to go in and set up the voicemail box all over again. Messages stored in the iPhone voicemail box do not directly transfer over. It doesn't matter. People do it all the time between smartphones. If you log into your MyVerizon you'll see they already know what phone you're now using.

Right. But wouldn't you want the app to use when you open it. Not leave the GPS always running?

GPS Always on

I signed into my Google and now the GPS arrow is always on. And under location services it's highlighted purple next to Google. Turned it off and the icon went away. I would think this would be a battery drain issue if Google Now is always using your GPS location.

Droid DNA Case w/Kickstand

Having trouble finding a case for the DNA with a kickstand. Only one I've found is Seidio's active. Which I'm not interested in. I think it adds too much girth to the phone. Anyone know of other cases with a kickstand?

TMO 1900MHz network modernization question
Mar 27, 2013, 3:05 PM
in the T-Mobile forum

I was looking at the specs of my HTC One S and it doesn't have the WCDMA 1900. So I'm wondering with TMO pushing to spread their 1900MHz coverage to work with older iPhones. Are they shutting down the 1700Mhz? Therefore limiting phones like the One S. Or will these phones that were specifically made for TMO before their modernization continue to work just fine?

It supports T-Mobile's LTE network, in addition to HSPA+ in the 1700 and 1900 MHz spectrum. T-Mobile's version of the iPhone 5 will also be the only variant to offer HD voice. Okay, now I see the light.

STOP THE INSANITY...iPhone???
Mar 26, 2013, 11:13 AM
in the Article: T-Mobile Spring Launch Event Liveblog forum

Okay I'll admit,I must be missing something. Or is it any iPhone is missing the 1700 MHz, RIGHT? Which TMO uses. So one's experience with a TMO iPhone could be quite disappointing, right? Because if you don't live in one of their modernized areas or LTE area. You're going to be still stuck on EDGE because none of the iPhones have a 1700 MHz radio. Why offer em' then!? /;|

VZW MMS on Androids
Feb 11, 2013, 2:22 PM
in the Verizon Wireless forum

I've seen this before on Android phones I've used with Verizon. When you receive a picture (MMS) it plays it like a mini movie and you can't pinch to zoom or anything. How do you get an Android phone to handle MMS's like every other phone? If someone sends a picture that's to small you can't enlarge it.

Re: iPhone 4s to HTC DNA
Jan 19, 2013, 1:04 PM

Good question but I don't have an answer. Verizon's LTE SIMS don't seem to be as user friendly as regular ATT & TMO SIMS. They deactivate them within 24Hrs, you usually have to call or go to a store to activate one. kind of a pain when you're used to GSM carriers. I do know if you attempt to activate a 4G phone via MyVerizon, there's an option to have them send you a 4G SIM.

Fringe 4G area and RAZR HD/iPhone 5
Jan 12, 2013, 4:46 PM
in the Verizon Wireless forum

So where I work there are VZW 3G & 1XRTT repeaters. I tried out the RAZR HD and it latches onto 1-2 bars of 4G and is virtually useless. No data, no nothing and I can't get it to switch to 3G which obviously I'd get full bars. I was wondering if the iPhone 5 is better at switching to the stronger signal in the area? Or if it's radio would act the same as the RAZR's...any 4G signal ...

iPhone to Android reset iMessages.
Jan 11, 2013, 2:21 PM
in the Verizon Wireless forum

Any help with this would be appreciated? Going from an iPhone which I was using iMessages to an Android. ATT seems to reset and go back to regular texts no problem. But on Verizon texts don't go through either way. I have to have another Verizon iPhone user turn off their iMessages, we swap texts, then they can turn iMessages back on. Then texts start to flow between the two OS's just fine. Why doesn't the network pick this ...

I'd suggest using this site. http://www.rootmetrics.com/ Altho ugh they may not have much data from your area, they' helped me choose Verizon in my area. With T-Mobile a very close 2nd. The reason I chose Verizon & T-Mobile were based on reviews from the above mentioned site on how fast text's were delivered within an carrier and cross carriers. Had a choice. I mean iPhone's are pretty well untouched by carriers. Although mine was from ATT. The box was shrink wrapped and there was an ATT SIM already installed. Therefore untouched by the carrier. I think once again Apple was like "this is what you get. Sell it or not, we don't care wireless carriers."
