Unfortunately the 2" LCD is a mere 160x128 resolution. It is basically an a870 with a bigger display (same resolution mind you) with the mail@metro and IM features added. So you're paying an extra $50 for a slider design, substituted external screen for a single larger one, and 1.3mp camera minus the flash (still no video yet either) which may only be marginally better. I think feature-wise the price is pretty steep.

Actually the best deal in prepaid is PagePlus Cellular- $80 for 1400 mins (5.7c a min). All airtime purchases ($10/83min, $25/300min, $50/700min, $80/1400min) are good for 120 days, and any unused minutes will rollover for another 120 days if you purchase any card. They operate off of verizon's network (but use the inPulse network) so theres pretty good coverage. SO that $100 you spend could be 1300 minutes with pageplus (2 $25 cards and one $50) that span one ...

Its a pretty slick design, smaller than it looks, and pretty slim. You should be seeing it very soon in stores. I think it will be $199. I think if it had a memory card slot, qvga screen, and no restrictions, it would be a very nice phone. Well it would be alot like the nokia slider only slimmer, and a protected camera.

Some people are in uproar(no pun intended) about its ability to use your mp3s as ringtones (from the microsd card etc), which is true for the alltel version, but it might not be the case in the metro version - since the firmware wont be the same. I'm not saying for sure one way or the other, I'm just saying you will ...

I think it might be possible, the alltel version wont do it, but maybe it wont be locked out on metro's version. I think some people could do it through bitpim, but after a tricky process. only time will tell i suppose.

Im gonna say if the phone does really well than maybe will see it in a couple years (like the razr), and if it doesnt do very well then maybe sooner. But i guess if metro is looking for another keyboarded device, it would be a contender.

Yes this phone is obviously a rip of the razr but...
Alot of people have gripes about the razr, and while this will probably not be much better at least its an alternative. The proposed system looks pretty generic, but at least its fairly feature rich.

Yea. A nokia slider with full keyboard, at least QVGA screen, card slot, 2mp cam, huge battery, bluetooth.. maybe series 60, fm transmitter, heck throw in wifi... i would be fine even if it was a little brickish. Thats pretty much it. But on a side note i don't foresee them bringing out a smart phone (at least proper one with windows mobile or symbian) anytime soon due to complications and testing and what not. But who knows.

Yea i mean it doesn't seem that necessary, but at the same time i felt the person was being ignorant by saying "thats beyond slang". I'm not the most intelligible person for these sort of arguments, so i guess it was a bold statement.

Yes i know, the k312 has been available for over a week in my area. I wasn't talking about that phone anywhere in my post. Its not a great phone anyhow, sam 870 is better for $10 more in my opinion (more memory, better screens, cant say much about the camera).

I think everyone should be careful what the read in this forum about new phones. Just look at past threads about new phone rumors and look how many came true. Do some research for your self, cross reference information, etc. Who knows what generation these rumors are by the time they get to this forum, not to mention people wanting to act like professionals and whatnot. A good place to look for new metropcs phones seems to be virgin mobile, i know for a fact the cyclops would be out. They should defiantly replace the krzr, with anything else, i would even take a can and string.
