Why don't they update the program to force you to have a screen lock in order to use it? Just an idea...

in the Article: Live: Motorola Droid RAZR and MotoACTV forum

So you guys were 1/2 conflicting with exclusivity on this device... you stated it was exclusive to Verizon, then 2 lines later stated it would be available everywhere in November... so is it just the "droid" branded one that is exclusive to verizon? and everywhere else it will be the RAZR? And if so, is this US carriers too, or just internationally?

Except it totally does matter... the argument crazieglued had was that he could not use the kickstand and charge it at the same time... Clearly that is a problem. we know the screen orientation changes with the device turning, but that doesnt help when the kickstand only stays in one place.

The point you are all missing, and only a few of you have even touched on, is that this is a "bidding" process... The "winner" is the lowest bidder... This "Project" has the same dilemma as the Space Shuttle. Your sending people into the most desolate place known to man strapped to a project built by the lowest quality materials for the lowest price. The american people should ask for the best overall product, regardless of the price, when ...

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you... Sprint's EVDO is equal to or better than Verizon's. And when it's not, it's because it's roaming on Verizon or Alltel's Towers. Sprint won the overall Data trophy for a reason, and with WiMax coming, the gap is just going to grow larger.

When Sprint did this you guys went nuts, but if holier than thou ATT does it, "it's just common business practice". WTF? https://www.phonescoop.com/news/discuss.p hp?ff=3221 This article had 49 comments, with roughly all of them, excluding a few loyal sprint fans, bashing Sprint and contending that the ship is sinking, and everyone should bail before we go down with it. Sprint may be ranked third in overall customers, But 50-some odd million customers is still nothing to sneeze at. That's still double ...

If it's the Airave, It will NOT boost rev. A signal. It only boosts 1x internet signal and voice. It wasn't designed to boost internet signal, thats what wi-fi's for. \ The airave is strictly to boost incoming and outgoing calls in a poor or weak signal area, such as a home or small office.

I Remember when the Airave was first announced by Sprint, and all the Verizon fanboys were screaming about how "you wouldn't need a device like that if you had a superior network with better signal". 8O 8O Where are those fanboys now? :D :D Probably looking forward to having better signal in their house, just like the Sprint peeps...

Re: I pay Sprint $5/month?
Jul 30, 2008, 10:44 AM
in the Article: Sprint's Airave Femtocell Now Available Across the U.S. forum

I actually think it is you who does not understand how Airave compares to hotspot @home... The Airave is not a repeater... It actually uses your internet connection to create a signal and converts your voice calls into VOIP, and then transmits them over your connection. That is why the device has a range of 5,000 feet. It is actually the signal footprint that is 5,000 ft, not the distance within a signal it must be to "repeat" it. Therefore ...

No, unfortunately this phone is not capable of downloading ringers from Sprint.com... This is a WM6 device, and is not compatible with sprint's ringtone products. It is however compatible(now) with call tones(ringback tones). Hope this answers your questions...

Neither did Verizon
Mar 20, 2008, 3:24 PM
in the Article: Verizon Wireless Has Won the 700 MHz C Block forum

Neither did Verizon, but that didn't stop them. Sprint may have lost 30 billion, but it was mostly a write off... Verizon is operating in debt from the Vodaphone buy and will continue to do so as long as Voda continues to hold a majority share of stock. I do agree that Verizon needed the spectrum the most due to roaming coverage, or lack thereof.

I really like this commercial... It is not officially out yet. If I read correctly, it won't be out til Monday, but it has a lot of potential. It gives a very personal appeal to the company, which we obviously need. My only concern is the end. I hope we are not going to try and rebrand again as the "Now Network".

in the Article: Sprint Introduces Airave To Help Weak Reception forum

if I'm correct, the GPS signal does not have to be constant, it just has to receive a correlative update every 15 min or so to confirm its inside the U.S. and to determine the correct time zone. Plus, the device actually comes with a large external antenna for the GPS if it has trouble picking up a signal. (there is an internal for those with little to no interference)

Re: Coverage Area?

We have already recieved our AirRave's in Nashville, so I guess they're going on sale soon nationwide, and from what I've heard/read the AirRave will work any where in the U.S. and P.R. that has a broadband connection. The GPS is only there to ensure that you're inside the US/PR and to recieve Time Zone Updates.

I thought I had heard that ATT launched the DSL without wireline service now. I had heard it was coming this quarter, so I figured this was part of that package. I know ATT had been speaking of doing a deal where you don't need a wireline, so maybe that is still coming. I heard of a deal that they had if you had a wireline for $9.99, and the deal with no wireline was supposed to be $19.99...

I'd need more details on this plan other than 450 minutes... does it include free N&W? how about any messaging? or what about nights free? You can already recieve this plan, just not in a bundle... Get a Power Pack 450 minute plan from Sprint for $39.99, with free N$W starting at 7PM, and then add the Basic DSL plan from AT&T for $19.99 w/o a contract, or $9.99 with a contract.

The device itself is $50, but I am uncertain if there are any usage charges or a service plan that is required. According to the handbook, it has to be activated first, yet we at my store have been unable to determine what is necessary to do so. If anybody has any additional info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Seems to me that the location of the 911 button could be a problem... I know myself that I have pressed the button above the "END" key dozens of times. Ordinarily this isn't a problem, but in this case, it is the 911 button. It seems they would have located that button somewhere less-likely to be an accidental press than that. Perhaps in the upper left-hand corner of the phone, with nothing else surrounding it, so that it would ...

no eroc05, you cannot. Samsung designed this phone to have something that others do not... It's accomplished that on a lot of fronts, some very well, and others not so well... As of now, Samsung is apparently working on a software upgrade that will give an option of ringer or caller-id, however I prefer the Caller id much more than the ringer, seeing as how the music pauses before it rings anyway, as long as the headset is on, you'll ...
